At the heart of the GP/DI IR is a ground breaking four valve power section coupled with both digital impulse response loading and an all analogue cab and mic simulator. This gives you the choice of zero latency analogue response, detailed IR realism, or a blend of both, all while the integrated reactive load keeps your amp safe when no speaker is connected. Add in a flexible effects loop, reamp capability and external amp integration and you have a complete professional hub for recording, practice and live work.

The refined Sag control lets you dial in the amount of power supply compression and bloom, tailoring pick attack, sustain and touch sensitivity to suit anything from tight modern rhythm work to vintage style sag. You can plug into a cab, headphones, an interface or a PA and still feel the same organic response under your fingers.

Flexible Cab Simulation and IR Options

Fryette have built two cabinet simulation paths into the GP/DI IR so you can work exactly the way you prefer. A low latency IR loader offers memory for 16 cabinets, including 8 of Fryette’s most popular cabs, with the option to load your own via the front panel USB port. Alongside this sits a tunable all analogue cab and mic filter with an Air switch for added top end presence, delivering zero latency and huge dynamic range. Use either path on its own, combine them, or defeat the onboard sims entirely if you want to use external IRs.

Integrated Reamp and External Amp Modes

For studio users, the GP/DI IR doubles as a high quality reamp box. A unity gain Direct Out lets you record your untouched guitar pickup signal to a separate track, while the rear panel Reamp Input feeds that track back into the tube front end for new tones without reperforming the part. External Amp Mode allows you to patch the GP/DI IR into the effects loop of almost any amplifier, effectively adding Fryette clean and overdrive channels to your existing rig. Both External Amp Mode and the More/Less Gain function can be switched remotely for seamless integration on stage.

Silent Recording, Practice and Live Versatility

The integrated reactive load means you can safely run the GP/DI IR without a speaker connected, making silent recording and late night practice simple. When you do want to move air, the one watt tube power amp will comfortably drive 4, 8 or 16 Ohm cabinets, from compact 1x12s to full 4x12 stacks, so you can mic up at low volume and still capture the sound of a real cab. The effects loop with selectable level lets you place time based effects in the ideal position, or feed the power amp from an external preamp, modeller or Synergy Modular System for even more tonal options.
