Product Description
The Friedman VX-212-IV is a premium 2x12 open-back cabinet, purpose-built to partner with the Vintage Series VX-30 all-valve head. Loaded with a pair of Celestion Alnico Blue speakers and finished in classy ivory, it delivers the unmistakable chime, warmth and musical compression that classic British tones are known for, while staying articulate and responsive under the fingers.
Handcrafted in the USA using tongue and groove Baltic birch, the VX-212-IV is designed to let the VX-30 head breathe. The open-back construction gives your sound width and air, with warm lows, mellow upper mids and a brilliant, bell-like top end that sits beautifully in any mix. Whether you are on stage or in the studio, this cab rewards touch-sensitive players who want every nuance of their playing to come through.
Vintage-Voiced, Player-Focused Tone
Matched specifically to the VX-30 head, the VX-212-IV is voiced for rich definition and musicality. When you push it, the cab develops a smooth, harmonically rich compression that feels inspiring to play, making it ideal for expressive blues, rock and indie styles where dynamics really matter.
Celestion Alnico Blue Speakers
At the heart of the VX-212-IV are two Celestion Alnico Blue 12 inch speakers, a benchmark choice for players chasing classic chime and character. They deliver a sweet, harmonically complex midrange, tight but warm low end and a shimmering top that cuts without ever sounding harsh, perfectly complementing the VX-30 head.
Open-Back Projection and Air
The open-back design allows sound to radiate from both the front and rear of the cabinet, giving you a more three-dimensional spread on stage and in the room. This helps your guitar sit naturally in a band mix, with less boxiness and more air and depth around every note.
Road-Ready Friedman Construction
Built from robust Baltic birch using tongue and groove joinery, the VX-212-IV is engineered to handle regular gigging. Oversized 12-gauge speaker wire is soldered directly between the speakers and terminal, ensuring you capture every ounce of tone from the VX-30 head with maximum reliability and consistency.
