Product Description
The Friedman VX-212-BL is a premium 2x12 open-back cabinet loaded with Celestion Alnico Blue speakers, purpose-built to complement the VX-30 all-valve head. Delivering a glorious, dampened attack with warm lows, smooth upper mids and a brilliant, bell-like top end, it is a serious tone upgrade for players who want classic chime, rich harmonic content and inspiring touch sensitivity.
Handcrafted in the USA from Baltic birch using tongue and groove construction, the VX-212-BL is designed to sing when pushed. Paired with the VX-30 head it offers rich definition and musical compression that feels alive under the fingers, while oversized internal wiring ensures every nuance of your sound reaches the audience intact.
Vintage-Inspired Tone with Modern Reliability
At the heart of the VX-212-BL are two Celestion Alnico Blue 12 inch speakers, a benchmark choice for players chasing iconic British chime and complex overtones. Their fast response and natural compression make the cabinet feel incredibly responsive, rewarding subtle changes in pick attack and guitar volume. Whether you are playing clean arpeggios or edge-of-breakup crunch, the VX-212-BL delivers a refined, musical voice that sits perfectly in a mix.
Open-Back Design for Room-Filling Projection
The open-back construction gives the VX-212-BL a wide, three-dimensional spread that fills the room rather than beaming straight ahead. This makes it an excellent choice for live use and studio tracking alike, with a more airy, spacious sound compared to a closed-back cab. You get warm, supportive lows without boominess, plus a natural sense of space that flatters both single-coils and humbuckers.
Road-Ready Baltic Birch Construction
Built from Baltic birch with tongue and groove joinery, the VX-212-BL is engineered to withstand regular gigging while contributing positively to your tone. The rigid, resonant shell helps focus the sound and enhances clarity, so your chords stay defined and your lead lines cut through. As with all Friedman cabinets, it is handcrafted with pride in the USA, giving you the confidence to take it on the road night after night.
Optimised Signal Path
Inside the VX-212-BL, oversized 12-gauge speaker wire is soldered directly between the speakers and the terminal. This robust wiring approach helps preserve signal integrity and ensures you capture every ounce of valuable tone from your amplifier. Combined with the cabinet design and speaker choice, it creates a highly efficient, musical platform for the VX-30 head or any compatible amp you choose to pair with it.
Features
- Dual Celestion Alnico Blue Speakers - Two 12 inch Celestion Alnico Blue speakers deliver the unmistakable chime, harmonic richness and touch sensitivity that tone connoisseurs love, making every note feel expressive and alive.
- Open-Back 2x12 Design - The open-back configuration provides a spacious, room-filling sound with warm lows and airy highs, ideal for players who want a more three-dimensional, less directional projection on stage or in the studio.
- Baltic Birch Tongue and Groove Construction - Baltic birch with tongue and groove joinery offers a strong, resonant enclosure that enhances clarity and definition while standing up to the rigours of regular transport and performance.
- Oversized 12-Gauge Internal Wiring - Heavy-duty 12-gauge speaker wire is soldered between the speakers and terminal to maintain signal integrity, ensuring your amplifier tone reaches the speakers with maximum impact and detail.
