Product Description
After their triumphant return in ’98 with a line of faithful reissues, the Dano crew have gone one step further and cranked everything we love about those quirky, character‑packed originals right up to eleven. Meet the Danelectro Golden 50s — a cheeky nod to the 1954 classics, but with a few clever modern tweaks where it really matters.
Lipstick pickups with extra sizzle
Of course, no Danelectro would be complete without those unmistakable “Lipstick” pickups. These beauties are built just like the originals from the 1950s, but with a little extra oomph where it counts. They’re 30% hotter at the bridge and 20% hotter in the neck. The result? Heavenly sweetness, lush harmonics and that classic Dano sparkle with a whole lot more attitude.
Vintage vibes done right
From the moment you lay eyes on it, the Golden 50s just screams retro cool. The “Full Bell” headstock makes a glorious return from 1954, setting the tone straight away. Then there’s that Rosewood saddle bridge that brings a naturally warm, rounded tone that perfectly balances out those bright lipstick pickups. And just when you think it couldn’t get any cooler, Danelectro have thrown in the legendary “Skate Key” tuners from ’58.
Short scale, big fun
With its comfy 21" short-scale length, this is an absolute joy to play. It’s super accessible, great for smaller hands or players looking for something a bit different, and gives the guitar a slightly looser, slinkier feel that just invites you to get creative.
Features
- Shorthorn body shape: This unique double-cut design has been turning heads since the ’50s. It’s light, balanced and dripping with retro charm, making it super easy to play whether you’re standing on stage or kicking back at home.
- 1950s graphic: The eye-catching body livery is lifted straight from a genuine ‘50s kitchen tabletop, giving you authentic vintage flair you simply won’t see on anything else!
- 21” scale length: Makes for a slinkier string feel, perfect for easy bends, compact chord shapes and a super inviting playing experience.
- Lipstick pickups: Expect all that signature Dano sparkle and jangly charm, but now with a touch more punch and fullness — giving you vintage tone with just the right amount of modern edge.
