Product Description

The Cordoba Master Friederich Classical Guitar in Cedar is a meticulous tribute to one of the most revered luthiers in modern guitar history. Part of Cordoba’s Luthier Select Series, this all-solid, concert-level instrument blends Friederich-inspired construction with Cordoba’s modern precision, delivering a silky, responsive tone with powerful basses, singing trebles and exceptional projection. Designed for serious classical players and discerning enthusiasts, it offers a refined playing experience that rewards nuance, control and musicality.

Handcrafted in small batches by Cordoba’s elite luthiers, the Master Friederich captures the graceful body shape, carved headstock and elegant detailing that made Daniel Friederich’s instruments so sought after. A solid Canadian cedar top paired with solid rosewood back and sides, Friederich-inspired seven-fan bracing and ultra-thin polyurethane finish allow the soundboard to breathe freely, giving you a voice that feels alive under the fingers and carries effortlessly in the concert hall or studio.

With a traditional 650 mm scale, 52 mm nut width and comfortable C-shape mahogany neck, the guitar feels instantly familiar to classical players, while the ebony fingerboard and precise Cordoba Master Series tuners ensure a stable, confident platform for advanced repertoire. From delicate pianissimo passages to full-blooded rasgueado, the Master Friederich responds with clarity, balance and depth, making it an inspiring partner for both performance and practice.

Friederich-Inspired Design

Daniel Friederich’s instruments are renowned for their powerful basses, lyrical trebles and elegant aesthetics. The Master Friederich honours this legacy with a body outline, carved rosewood headplate and detailing that echo his iconic style, giving you a guitar that not only sounds exceptional but also looks every inch the refined concert instrument.

Responsive Cedar Top and Seven-Fan Bracing

A solid Canadian cedar top, supported by Friederich-inspired seven-fan bracing with delicately carved spruce braces, delivers a warm, immediate response with excellent dynamic range. Notes bloom quickly under the fingers, making it easier to shape phrases, control tone colour and project effortlessly in larger spaces.

All-Solid Rosewood Body for Depth and Projection

Elegantly grained solid rosewood back and sides, with matching rosewood binding and an intricate wood rosette, provide a rich, complex tonal foundation. The combination of cedar and rosewood offers a deep, resonant low end, clear mids and singing highs, ideal for everything from Baroque counterpoint to contemporary concert works.

Traditional Feel with Modern Playability

The 650 mm scale length, 52 mm nut width and C-shape mahogany neck give a traditional classical feel, while the smooth ebony fingerboard and carefully shaped neck thickness promote comfort and accuracy across all positions. A dual-action truss rod allows fine adjustment of neck relief, helping you maintain an optimised playing setup over time.
