Cordoba Luthier Select Esteso Classical Guitar in Spruce

The Cordoba Luthier Select Esteso SP is a concert level classical guitar that pays meticulous homage to one of Spain’s most revered luthiers, Domingo Esteso. Featuring a European spruce top with hand carved spruce bracing and solid Pau Ferro back and sides, it delivers a lightweight, highly responsive instrument with the rich, singing voice associated with the golden age of Spanish guitar making.

Handcrafted in small batches by Cordoba’s elite luthier team, the Esteso SP combines traditional construction with modern consistency and playability. Ultra thin finishing, premium tonewoods and refined aesthetic details all work together to give players an inspiring nylon string guitar that feels alive in the hands and rewards every nuance of their technique.

Inspired by Domingo Esteso

Created after extensive study of original Domingo Esteso instruments, this model mirrors the low mass, lightly built construction that made his guitars so sought after. The result is a classical guitar with impressive projection and immediacy, responding quickly to even the lightest touch. Players benefit from a voice that carries in the concert hall while retaining warmth and complexity for intimate performance and recording.

European Spruce Top with Hand Carved Bracing

The Esteso SP features a European spruce soundboard paired with delicately hand carved spruce bracing. This combination produces a clear, focused tone with excellent note separation and a wide dynamic range, ideal for advanced classical repertoire and expressive solo playing. The responsive top allows you to shape phrases with precision, from subtle pianissimo passages to powerful, full bodied chords.

Solid Pau Ferro Back and Sides

Solid Pau Ferro back and sides provide a tonal palette comparable to rosewood, with a strong, balanced low end, rich overtones and articulate trebles. At the same time, Pau Ferro offers a slightly lighter feel and striking natural figure. This enhances both comfort and visual appeal, giving players a guitar that looks as refined as it sounds.

Elegant Traditional Appointments

Flamed maple binding and a distinctive rosette with mother of pearl inlay echo the intricate detailing reserved for Esteso’s finest instruments. These tasteful appointments frame the spruce and Pau Ferro beautifully, adding a sense of heritage and craftsmanship without distracting from the guitar’s primary purpose as a serious performance tool.
