Chapman Scout Traditional Electric Guitar in Shadow Burst

The Chapman Scout Traditional in Shadow Burst is a modern workhorse with a classic heart, built for players who need one guitar to cover it all. A weight relieved mahogany body with a flame maple top delivers punch and clarity, while the roasted maple neck and rosewood fretboard feel instantly familiar in your hands. With an HSS pickup configuration, coil split and a raft of pro-level appointments, this is a stage-ready instrument that rewards both precision and creativity.

Shaped by real-world player feedback, the Scout Traditional refines the original Chapman ethos into a sleek, comfortable and highly versatile electric guitar. Stainless steel frets, carbon rod neck reinforcement and a dual action truss rod give you rock solid stability, while modern touches like a treble bleed circuit, Orange Drop capacitors and full-size pots keep your tone consistent and responsive at any volume. Finished in a striking Shadow Burst, it looks as good under the lights as it feels under your fingers.

Player Focused Design

Every contour and component of the Scout Traditional has been refined with working guitarists in mind. The updated modern body carve improves upper fret access and long-session comfort, while the weight relieved mahogany body helps keep shoulder fatigue at bay without sacrificing sustain or low-end authority. From rehearsal room to tour van, this is a guitar built to be played hard, night after night.

Fast, Familiar Neck Feel

The roasted maple neck with rosewood fretboard is designed to feel broken in from the first chord. Roasting improves stability and resistance to changes in temperature and humidity, so your setup stays consistent. A 14 inch radius, comfortable profile and stainless steel frets make bends effortless and intonation precise, while glow in the dark side dots keep you on track on the darkest stages.

Versatile HSS Tonal Palette

Co-designed by Rob Chapman and Trev Wilkinson, the Chapman pickups give the Scout Traditional a wide tonal range. The ceramic bridge humbucker delivers tight, powerful rock tones, while the Alnico V single coils in the middle and neck offer articulate cleans and chime. A push-pull coil split on the tone control and a 5 way switch unlock everything from glassy single coil sparkle to thick, saturated lead sounds, making this guitar equally at home in pop, rock, blues or heavier styles.

Modern Reliability and Control

Under the bonnet, the Scout Traditional is packed with thoughtful details that make a real difference on stage. A carbon rod reinforced neck and dual action truss rod offer long-term stability and precise adjustment, while the spoke wheel truss rod access makes tweaks quick and easy. The Graph Tech Tusq nut, Chapman locking tuners and hardtail bridge work together for tuning confidence, and the treble bleed circuit, Orange Drop capacitors and full-size A 500k pots keep your tone clear and dynamic as you ride the volume and tone controls.

• Roasted Maple Neck with Rosewood Fretboard - The roasted maple neck offers enhanced stability and a smooth, fast feel, while the rosewood fretboard adds warmth and a familiar touch under your fingers. Together they provide a neck that feels played in from day one and stays consistent across changing conditions.
• HSS Pickups with Coil Split - A ceramic bridge humbucker paired with Alnico V single coils in the middle and neck positions gives you everything from crisp cleans to high gain punch. The push-pull coil split and 5 way switch expand your tonal options, so you can cover multiple genres with a single guitar.
• Modern Hardware for Rock Solid Performance - Chapman locking tuners, a Graph Tech Tusq nut and the Chapman hardtail bridge work together for excellent tuning stability and reliable intonation. Whether you are digging in for aggressive rhythm work or nuanced lead lines, the guitar stays in tune and responds accurately.
• Pro Grade Electronics and Construction - Stainless steel frets, carbon rod neck reinforcement, dual action truss rod and premium electronics such as Orange Drop capacitors, treble bleed and full-size A 500k pots ensure durability, clarity and control.
