Product Description

Electro-Harmonix has created some of the guitar industry's most iconic stompboxes. And their new 1440 Stereo Looper pedal proves that they still strive to innovate and push the boundaries!

A full looping workstation within a compact enclosure, the Electro-Harmonix 1440 is ideal for experimental players who want lots of functionality from a unit that doesn't take up too much pedalboard real-estate.

Lots of Flexibility

A compact powerhouse of a pedal, the 1440 Stereo Looper provides (you guessed it) 1440 seconds of pristine, uncompressed recording time. It can also store 20 different loops for full creative authority, meaning that you can revisit older patterns or ideas, or even form a setlist of sorts for live performances.

Unlimited Overdubbing

EHX's 1440 Stereo Looper can even tempo sync to an external MIDI device, and allows for unlimited overdubbing so that you can lay down as many parts as you like! Variable tempo playback, plus Reverse and Octave speed effects, really enhance your control!

Electro-Harmonix has included a '1 Shot' function, adjustable fadeout times and optional external footswitch control for selecting loops and Undo/Redo. All-in-all, the affordable 1440 Stereo Looper puts a heap of looping potential on your pedalboard without taking up too much space.

'Loop Manager' App

The EHX 1440 Loop Manager app allows you to export your loops to your computer for back up, or to use in other software. The possibilities are endless!

If you're looking for a performance looper and don't need dual tracks, this is worth a serious look. I bought it over the 720 because of the feedback knob but it is not a perfect pedal. The mode knob failed within 5 minutes (I'm using the knurled metal knob directly). I've had an odd clipping sound appear now and then which I'm currently going to put down to user error. Currently. It's WAY easier to use the effects than on the DittoX2 but the Ditto can go louder (I've 4 loopers on my board so have checked for you!) but the balance-bility between loop and input is good. I decided to keep because the quirks of the pedal create opportunities. It needs velcro-ing down as the rubber feet are a little high so can tip over if you don't hit the switches directly. The switches, incidentally, are totally silent (quieter than the Ditto) and the case itself is so small. The selectable fade out times are great too. If you can side by side this with other pedals, I would recommend you do that. It's a good pedal but as with all loopers that have additional features, whether it works for you is a personal choice.

Very good in pretty much every regard but with one feature I find bizarre. The looper is very practical, stores multiple loops which are easily accessible, it sounds good and is easy to use. However, it has a Tempo knob to change the playback speed which is easy to knock even with a fairly light touch of a cable brushing against it and when it is knocked it not only changes speed of playback but the key. Soloing over a marginally slowed playback sounds as if you're playing out of key which is what you notice rather than the tiny change in speed. Why would anyone want the key changed by an unspecified amount if you wanted to change playback speed by a specified amount so the looper sounds like a record played at the wrong speed?
