    Justin Guitar

Here's what YouTube guitar teacher JustinGuitar says about EastCoast Guitars

"Having played a lot of budget instruments in recent months, I can confidently say that the EastCoast guitars are by far the best bang for buck I've tried. They all had a "low action" (which means the strings are easier to press down) which is perfect for beginners and means less finger pain and a lot more fun!"

    Product Description

Looking to play the guitar? EastCoast should be the first name you check out. They make excellent, affordable instruments for beginners and casual players alike.

The M1S is an ultra-compact guitar - the M stands for mini. This version comes with an all-Mahogany construction, giving it a luxurious caramel colour and rich, warm tone despite its small form-factor. Big sound, comfy feel, great price tag!

    Key Features

    • All Mahogany construction for warm, classic sound
    • Compact design with a big sound
    • Soft, accessible neck with Laurel fretboard for easy playability
    • Black & white binding for a classy look

    Mini Body Shape

The M1S is the smallest acoustic guitar shape in the EastCoast range and accompanies vocals perfectly. It’s also an excellent choice for those with smaller hands thanks to its shorter neck and fretboard, as well as musicians who like to travel.

    Construction

The type of wood an acoustic guitar is made from significantly alters the sound it produces. Mahogany is known for its rich, grainy hue and warm, booming sound. The satin finish will protect it against bumps and scrapes and give it a raw, earthy look.

This was recommended to me as a beginner and seems to be an excellent choice.

This is a small lightweight guitar, about the size of a parlour guitar but with a shallower body and shorter scale length. It looks very well made and is quite pretty. The scale length is close to two frets shorter than a standard dreadnought, close to one fret shorter than my parlour guitars. This makes a huge difference, it's much lighter on the fingers and shorter stretches - my aged and battle-weary hands really appreciate it. I can play things and for periods of time that I can no longer manage on the guitars I used to perform with. The bass end is a bit thin, which you would expect of a small bodied guitar, especially with a mahogany top and straight out of the box. It will take some time to play in before it shows it's true colours, and I'm looking forward to that. For the moment it's a bright, punchy, fun little guitar to pick up and play. (I rated good rather than excellent on sound but really for what it is, it is an excellent sound.) I certainly can see this as a good choice for a young teen who wants a steel strung guitar that won't rip their fingers to the bone. Very happy with my purchase and more than well worth the price.

With the loyalty points knocked off I paid a little over £100 for this travel acoustic. Looks great, sounds ok and will definitely do the job it was purchased for.
