Sonor Momentum 20" Acoustic Shell Pack in GT Black

The Sonor Momentum Acoustic Shell Pack in GT Black is a compact, gig-ready beech kit designed for drummers who need controlled, versatile tone in both live and studio settings. Centred around a tight 20 inch bass drum and a flexible 10, 12, 14 tom configuration, it delivers a balanced sound with clear attack, focused low end and plenty of tuning range to cover everything from jazz to modern pop and rock.

With 9 ply, 6 mm beech shells, 45 degree bearing edges and Sonor’s T.A.R. mounting system, the Momentum kit is built to let the drums speak clearly and resonate naturally. Chrome hardware, 2.3 mm power hoops and Sonor’s TuneSafe system keep things solid and stable on stage, while the GT Black solid matte lacquer finish gives the kit a clean, professional look that suits any environment.

Please note: Snare, hardware and cymbals are not included.

Balanced Beech Shell Character

The Momentum shells are crafted from beech, chosen for its focused projection and even frequency spread. The 9 ply, 6 mm medium shell construction and 45 degree bearing edges provide a controlled yet lively response, making the kit easy to tune across a wide range. Whether you prefer tighter, articulate jazz tunings or a lower, modern sound, the shells respond consistently and musically.

Compact 20 Inch Bass Drum with Focused Punch

The 20 x 15.75 inch bass drum keeps the low end tight and articulate while still delivering enough weight for live work. Its more compact depth helps it fit comfortably on smaller stages and in tighter studio spaces, without sacrificing the punch and definition needed to anchor a mix. The bass drum comes without a mount, keeping the shell clean and resonance focused.

Flexible 10, 12, 14 Tom Configuration

Alongside the standard 12 inch rack tom and 14 inch floor tom, this shell pack includes an additional 10 x 7.75 inch rack tom. This extended tom range offers more melodic options for fills and transitions, and lets you tailor your layout for compact, fast setups or a more spread-out, expressive configuration. Clear pitch separation across the toms supports modern playing styles and detailed phrasing.

Resonance Friendly Mounting and Gig Ready Hardware

Sonor’s T.A.R. (Total Acoustic Resonance) mounting system minimises contact points on the toms and floor tom legs, allowing the shells to resonate freely and sustain evenly. This helps notes ring clearly at softer dynamics and keeps tuning stable over longer sessions. Chrome hardware, 2.3 mm power hoops and Sonor single lugs with TuneSafe provide a solid, dependable feel behind the kit, reducing detuning during energetic playing.

• 9 Ply Beech Shells with 45 Degree Bearing Edges - Beech offers a focused, balanced tone with clear projection, while the 9 ply, 6 mm construction and 45 degree edges deliver a controlled yet lively response. This combination makes the kit easy to tune and adaptable to a wide range of genres and playing environments.
• Compact 20 x 15.75 Inch Bass Drum - The slightly shallower 20 inch bass drum provides tight, articulate low end that sits well in a mix and fits comfortably on smaller stages. You get enough punch and depth for live work, with a quicker response that suits modern, dynamic playing.
• Expanded 10, 12, 14 Tom Setup - Including both 10 and 12 inch rack toms alongside a 14 inch floor tom gives you a wider melodic range and more layout options. This helps create smooth, musical movement around the kit and supports styles that rely on clear pitch separation and expressive fills.
• T.A.R. Mounting System with TuneSafe Hardware - Sonor’s T.A.R. system and 2.3 mm power hoops are designed to let the shells resonate naturally, while single lugs with TuneSafe help prevent detuning during longer sessions and energetic gigs. The result is a kit that stays in tune and feels solid under the sticks.
