Sonor Momentum 22" Acoustic Shell Pack in California Burl

The Sonor Momentum Acoustic Shell Pack in California Burl pairs German precision with a stunning boutique aesthetic. Featuring 9-ply, 6mm birch shells and intermediate depths, this kit delivers a warm, focused tone with impressive projection, all wrapped in a striking matte California Burl finish that looks as refined as it sounds.

Manufactured entirely in Germany, the Momentum series blends modern drum-making technology with rock-solid hardware and clever design touches. From the T.A.R. tom suspension and Sound Sustainer floor tom legs to TuneSafe-equipped lugs and rubberised bass drum claws, every detail is engineered to maximise resonance, tuning stability and long-term reliability, whether you are in the studio or on stage.

This configuration centres around a punchy 22 inch bass drum with 10, 12 and 16 inch toms, giving you a versatile, gig-ready setup that covers everything from tight, articulate grooves to big, open rock tones. Intermediate shell depths help the drums sit comfortably around the kit while producing even tonal steps between each drum, making tuning more intuitive and musical.

Please note that this is a shell pack only. Cymbals, snare drum and hardware are not included, with the exception of the floor tom legs and tom mounting arms shown.

German-made Birch Shells

At the heart of the Momentum series are 9-ply, 6mm birch shells that offer a balanced blend of warmth, attack and clarity. Birch naturally emphasises the low and high frequencies, giving your sound plenty of punch and definition while still retaining a musical, controlled midrange that works across multiple genres.

Intermediate Shell Depths

Sonor have opted for intermediate shell depths to create even tonal intervals and a more ergonomic playing position. The result is a kit that tunes up quickly, feels comfortable to play and produces a cohesive voice from drum to drum, ideal for drummers who need consistency from rehearsal room to stage.

Resonant Mounting and Hardware

The T.A.R. tom mounting system and Sound Sustainer floor tom legs are designed to let the shells sing freely by minimising contact and vibration loss. Paired with 2.3mm steel hoops, rubberised die-cast bass drum claws and recessed tension rods, the hardware enhances sustain and projection while remaining robust enough for regular gigging.

California Burl Finish and Modern Details

The matte California Burl finish gives this kit a high-end, boutique look that stands out under stage lights and in the studio. Chrome-plated shell hardware, modern single lugs with TuneSafe technology and gold anniversary nameplates complete the premium aesthetic while ensuring reliable tuning and long-term durability.

• 9-ply, 6mm Birch Shells - Birch shells provide a focused, punchy sound with clear attack and controlled sustain, making this kit equally at home in live and studio environments. The 9-ply, 6mm construction adds strength and stability while helping the drums project with authority.
• Intermediate Shell Depths - Carefully chosen depths create smooth tonal steps between each drum and allow for comfortable positioning around the kit. This makes tuning more intuitive and gives you a balanced, musical spread of pitches across the toms and bass drum.
• T.A.R. Tom Mounts and Sound Sustainer Legs - The T.A.R. suspension system and Sound Sustainer floor tom legs minimise contact with the shells, preserving resonance and sustain. This means your toms speak more openly, with improved tone, longer decay and better dynamic response.
• Premium Hardware and California Burl Finish - Chrome-plated hardware, TuneSafe single lugs, 2.3mm steel hoops and rubberised die-cast bass drum claws combine for reliable performance and tuning stability. The matte California Burl finish and gold anniversary nameplates give the kit a distinctive, professional look.
