Sonor Momentum 20" Acoustic Shell Pack in California Burl

The Sonor Momentum Acoustic Shell Pack in California Burl is a German-made birch kit that blends studio-ready tone, rock-solid engineering and a stunning boutique aesthetic. With 9-ply, 6mm shells, intermediate depths and premium mounting hardware, it delivers a warm, focused sound with impressive projection and clarity, all while remaining comfortable to position around the player.

Featuring a 20 inch bass drum with 10, 12 and 14 inch toms, this shell pack is ideal for drummers who need a compact yet powerful setup for live work and recording. From the rubberised bass drum claws to the T.A.R. tom suspension and Sound Sustainer floor tom legs, every detail is designed to maximise resonance, tuning stability and long-term durability.

German Birch Shells with Modern Tone

At the heart of the Momentum series are 9-ply, 6mm birch shells that provide a warm, controlled tone with a pronounced attack and clear note definition. Birch naturally emphasises the low and high frequencies, giving your kick and toms a punchy, articulate voice that sits beautifully in a mix. Manufactured entirely in Germany, each shell reflects Sonor precision, consistency and build quality, giving you a kit you can rely on night after night.

Intermediate Depths for Balance and Comfort

The Momentum range introduces intermediate shell depths that strike a balance between fast response and full-bodied tone. These carefully chosen dimensions create even tonal intervals across the kit, making it easier to tune your drums musically while also allowing for ergonomic placement around the player. The result is a setup that feels natural to play and responds quickly to every nuance of your touch.

Resonant Mounting and Hardware

Sonor equip the Momentum series with hardware designed to let the shells sing. The T.A.R. tom mounting system offers free-swinging support for the rack toms, preserving sustain and resonance, while the floor tom legs feature Sound Sustainer technology derived from the SQ1 series to minimise vibration loss. Rubberised die-cast claws and recessed tension rods on the bass drum add stability and protection without choking the shell, so you get a clean, controlled sound with plenty of life.

California Burl Finish and Premium Details

The California Burl finish gives this kit a high-end, boutique look, complemented by chrome-plated hardware, modern single lugs with TuneSafe technology and gold anniversary nameplates. Square tension rods and 2.3mm steel hoops complete a package that feels as refined as it looks, making this shell pack equally at home on stage, in the studio or as the centrepiece of your rehearsal space.

• 9-Ply, 6mm Birch Shells - Constructed from 8 plies of birch with an additional outer veneer, these German-made shells deliver a warm, focused tone with strong projection and clarity, ideal for both live and studio applications.
