Product Description
The Reverend Thundergun Special Bass in Metallic Bordeaux brings back the cult-favourite Thundergun with a sharper, more refined edge. A solid Korina body, five-piece roasted Maple and Walnut neck, and Reverend Split Brick / Thick Brick pickups combine to deliver a huge, commanding low end with the clarity and punch modern players demand. From rock and metal to alternative and indie, this bass is built to anchor the mix with authority and style.
Visually striking and sonically devastating, the Thundergun Special pairs its sleek, bound body with a smooth forearm contour for long, comfortable sessions on stage or in the studio. The high-mass bridge and string-thru or top-load options give you precise control over feel and response, while the intuitive Volume, Tone and Pickup Pan controls make it easy to dial in everything from tight, focused growl to wide, enveloping thump.
Revamped Thundergun Attitude
The Thundergun Special takes everything players loved about the original and refines it for today. The Metallic Bordeaux finish and clean, pickguard-free look give it a bold, modern aesthetic, while the white body binding frames the Korina body for a premium, stage-ready presence. It is a bass that looks as powerful as it sounds, and instantly stands out under the lights.
Powerful Split Brick and Thick Brick Pickups
Reverend’s Split Brick neck pickup and Thick Brick bridge pickup are voiced for deep, muscular lows and clear, defined mids that cut through dense mixes. Blend them with the Pickup Pan control to move seamlessly from vintage-inspired warmth to aggressive, forward punch, all while retaining note definition and articulation across the fretboard.
Stable Five-Piece Neck for Confident Playing
The five-piece roasted Maple and Walnut neck is built for strength, stability and a smooth playing feel. The roasting process helps resist environmental changes, while the dual-action truss rod lets you fine-tune the neck relief to your preference. Combined with the medium oval profile and Rosewood fretboard, you get a fast, comfortable neck that encourages confident playing in any register.
High-Mass Bridge with Flexible Stringing Options
The bridge allows for both string-thru-body and top-load stringing, so you can tailor the feel and response to your playing style. String-thru-body can enhance sustain and a tighter attack, while top-load offers a slightly looser, more immediate feel. Either way, the solid hardware and chrome finish provide reliable performance and a crisp, professional look.
