Product Description

The original ShredMaster from 1991 was Marshall's first ever high-gain pedal. It become synonymous with the high-octane rock and metal music that emerged throughout the '90s and beyond, capable of delivering swathes of red-hot distortion perfect for saturated rhythm sounds and searing solos. It wasn't in production for long though, and demand has soared for the ShredMaster's distinct, thrashy sound in the years since — making it difficult to get hold of one on the used market.

Thanks to this authentic and faithful Marshall ShredMaster Reissue pedal, that's no longer a problem! This is an exact recreation of the original ShredMaster, boasting the components and features that made it so special in the first place. The pedal casing is accurately modelled on the bespoke design of the original, with the gold ShredMaster name, raised Marshall logo, and the heavy-duty enclosure all right there as you'd expect. Whether you emulate the music the ShredMaster is famed for, or forge your own path, it's all down to you!

Key Features

  • Faithful recreation of one of Marshall's most iconic pedals.

  • Robust, mild steel enclosure in the classic shape with old-school colour scheme.

  • Wired and assembled by hand in the UK.

The ShredMaster is still one of the best overdrive/distortions you can get in regards to its versatility and how well it stacks with other pedals. Do not let the name put you off if you are no shredder as you can get some killer lower gain sounds from it. Highly recommend everyone has one in their collection!

Nice smooth drive, the contour control takes some work though. The pedal seems dark but it seems its make to go with a bright amp or pedal. Max out the contour and its a mid cut vs what seems like a mid boost from 0-9. I was one of the lucky few who was able to get one shipped to the US, so it was worth the price (around $180), but I wouldn't pay the $250 they cost here. The housing is sturdy but we'll see if the reissues have the same switch durability issues as the originals.
