Product Description

Taking influence from Recording King's pre-war heritage, the Recording King Standard Series puts premium American-inspired, all-solid built acoustic guitars into the hands of players at any stage of their journey from beginner to pro!

Equipped with a premium solid Thermo-aged African Mahogany top, this parlour sized acoustic produces a tone that’s well above its price bracket. It's warm and articulate with rich lows and sweet highs, and thanks to its thermo-ageing, this acoustic produces a sound that’s resonant and lively with overtones which would usually only be found in genuine vintage examples. Partnered with its all-solid Mahogany back and sides, comfortably shaped Mahogany neck with Rosewood fingerboard, open-gear tuners, genuine bone nut and saddle and premium gigbag, the Recording King 00066 ticks every box with a versatile sound that easily sits with just about any style of playing.

Recording King

An American Guitar-Making Heritage… Born in 1929, Recording King has a history deeply woven into the fabric of American music. Originally established as a house brand for Montgomery Ward, some of its finest early instruments were built by none other than Gibson in their legendary Kalamazoo, Michigan factory during the 1930s. Though the original brand disappeared in 1939, its legacy lived on, and in the early 2000s Recording King was revived with a renewed passion for the instruments and musical traditions that made its name. Drawing inspiration from the golden age of American instrument making, the modern range celebrates the sounds of folk, country and bluegrass, with a collection of acoustic guitars, banjos and resonators designed to capture the character and spirit of the originals. Combining vintage-inspired designs, traditional craftsmanship and contemporary playability, Recording King continues to keep the heart and soul of American roots music alive. Nearly a century in the making, Recording King is a true celebration of American musical heritage!

Features
  • Thermo-aged Mahogany - Favoured for its sweetness, warmth and midrange punch, Mahogany is widely recognised as one of the go-to choices for acoustic instrument tops. Thermo-ageing (torrefying) takes things to the next level by ensuring all moisture is removed, meaning you're left with a top that’s even more resonant, lively and musical.
  • All Solid Construction - The Recording King Standard Series features an all-solid wood construction for rich musical dynamics, bell-like
  • Parlour - This smaller acoustic body shape offers a more intimate acoustic sound with sweet, articulate highs and a focused low end. It's easy to manage, perfect for playing on the couch (in the parlour), and produces a sound that’s not overbearing and excels in fingerstyle playing.
  • 12th Fret Neck Joint - Joining the neck to the body at the 12th fret helps optimise vibration and tonal transfer across the instrument, as well as tapping into the pre-war golden era of acoustic guitar design.
  • Gig Bag Included - Take your Recording Kind Standard Series acoustic guitar anywhere with confidence with the included RK Gig Bag!
