Mark Tremonti is one of modern rock’s true heavyweights. As the driving force behind Alter Bridge and Creed, he’s carved out a legendary career, constantly pushing himself as both a riff machine and a melodic songwriter. Back in the early days, while Creed was touring its debut album My Own Prison, Mark got a phone call that would change everything — PRS asked if he wanted to try one of their guitars.
Love at first strum
“I jumped at the idea to play one of PRS’ guitars. PRS was one of those guitars that I could never afford in high school or college and had always wanted to play one.” PRS sent Mark a McCarty model, and it was instant chemistry. He took it on the road, played it relentlessly and absolutely adored it. But over time, Mark realised he needed something even more tailored to his personal playing style.
Crafting the dream guitar
Mark and PRS teamed up to design what would become the Mark Tremonti Signature — a guitar engineered to keep up with his crushing rhythm work and soaring leads. He needed pickups with extra aggression to handle tight palm-muted riffs, and a neck profile that could move seamlessly between thrash-inspired shredding and bluesy expression.
PRS delivered the goods with the Tremonti neck carve and a set of pickups built to take no prisoners. The result? One of PRS’s most iconic signature models, and the ultimate tool for Tremonti’s unmistakable sound.
