Ernie Ball Music Man Short Scale StingRay Bass in Midnight Confetti

The Ernie Ball Music Man Short Scale StingRay Bass in Midnight Confetti distils the iconic StingRay sound into a more compact, effortless playing experience. With its 30" scale length, solid ash body and powerful passive neodymium humbucker, it delivers the punch, clarity and authority you expect from a StingRay, in a format that feels instantly comfortable whether you are a guitarist moving to bass or a seasoned player looking for a more manageable instrument.

Built in the USA, this Short Scale StingRay pairs a roasted maple neck with a maple fingerboard for a fast, smooth feel and rock-solid stability. The passive electronics and 3-way rotary switch unlock a surprising range of tones from a single pickup, from tight, articulate funk to thick, driving rock. Finished in the striking Midnight Confetti finish, it is a modern, premium take on a classic design that stands out on any stage.

Short Scale Feel, Full StingRay Attitude

The 30" short scale length brings the frets closer together and reduces overall string tension, making lines, stretches and chordal work noticeably easier under the fingers. Despite the more compact feel, the ash body and StingRay humbucker ensure you still get the familiar punch and presence that has made the StingRay a studio and stage staple for decades.

Premium Roasted Maple Neck

A roasted maple neck provides a refined, premium feel along with enhanced stability. The roasting process removes excess moisture from the wood, helping it remain more consistent across changing climates and conditions. Combined with the smooth maple fingerboard, you get a fast, responsive playing surface that encourages confident, expressive playing all over the neck.

Versatile Passive Neodymium Humbucker

At the heart of this bass is a specially designed passive StingRay humbucker loaded with higher-output neodymium magnets. This delivers a big, warm and rounded bass tone with plenty of clarity and definition, easily cutting through a mix without sounding harsh. The passive circuitry keeps the signal path simple and direct while still offering impressive tonal flexibility via the 3-way rotary selector.

Modern Hardware, Distinctive Finish

The Modern Classic bridge and lightweight Music Man tuning machines provide a solid, dependable platform that feels reassuringly robust without adding unnecessary weight. Finished in the eye-catching Midnight Confetti colour, this Short Scale StingRay combines classic double-cut styling with a bold, contemporary aesthetic that looks as inspiring as it sounds.

• 30" Short Scale for Effortless Playability - The reduced scale length brings the frets closer together and lowers string tension, making it easier to navigate complex lines, wide intervals and chord voicings. This is ideal for players with smaller hands, guitarists transitioning to bass or anyone who prefers a more compact, relaxed playing feel.
• Passive Neodymium StingRay Humbucker - The high-output neodymium humbucker delivers a powerful, full-bodied bass tone with a warm low end and articulate highs. The passive design keeps your sound open and dynamic, responding naturally to your touch while still providing the signature StingRay authority.
• 3-Way Rotary Pickup Selector - Switch between parallel, true single-coil and series modes from a single pickup, giving you everything from tight, snappy funk tones to thick, driving rock sounds. This makes the bass highly versatile on stage and in the studio without the need for multiple pickups or complex controls.
• Premium Construction and Midnight Confetti Finish - A solid ash body, roasted maple neck and stainless steel frets combine for durability, resonance and a consistently smooth feel. The striking Midnight Confetti finish adds a distinctive, modern look that stands out under stage lights and complements the classic StingRay silhouette.
