Mapex Mars Birch 20" Fusion Acoustic Drum Kit in Sunflower Sparkle

The Mapex Mars Birch 20" Fusion shell pack in Sunflower Sparkle is a punchy, portable kit that gives serious drummers a powerful, modern sound at a highly accessible price. With 100% birch shells, SONIClear bearing edges and suspension, plus a matching snare and double tom holder, it is designed to help you play confidently in rehearsal rooms, studios and on stage.

Balancing compact 20" fusion sizes with a full-bodied, focused tone, this configuration is ideal if you need a kit that travels easily yet still delivers the projection and clarity to handle rock, pop, worship, function gigs and more. The vibrant Sunflower Sparkle finish adds a bold visual statement that looks just as good under stage lights as it does in your practice space.

At the heart of the Mars Birch series are its 6-ply birch shells, voiced to give you fast attack, tight low end and a controlled sustain that sits perfectly in a mix. The SONIClear bearing edges and suspension system make tuning easier and more consistent, helping every drum sing with less effort and more musicality. Whether you are upgrading from your first kit or looking for a reliable workhorse, this shell pack is built to support your long-term Drummer For Life journey.

This 5-piece fusion configuration covers a wide range of styles, with a 20" x 16" bass drum that feels punchy and responsive, compact 10" x 7" and 12" x 8" rack toms for articulate fills, and a 14" x 14" floor tom that delivers satisfying low-end thump without being oversized. The matching 14" x 6.5" snare completes the set with a cohesive look and a crisp, versatile voice that can be tuned high and tight or fat and warm to suit your music.

100% Birch 6-Ply Shells

The Mars series uses 100% birch 6-ply shells to deliver a focused, modern drum sound with strong attack and tight low end. Birch naturally emphasises the high and low frequencies while keeping the mids controlled, so your grooves cut through clearly without sounding harsh. This makes the kit ideal for live use and recording, where clarity and definition are essential.

SONIClear Bearing Edge

Mapex’s SONIClear bearing edge is designed to let the drumhead sit flatter and make better contact with the shell. This improves tuning stability, widens the tuning range and helps the drums speak more easily at all dynamics. You spend less time fighting with lugs and more time playing, with a consistently musical tone across the whole kit.

SONIClear Suspension System

The SONIClear suspension system isolates the rack toms from the hardware, allowing them to resonate more freely while still providing solid, reliable mounting. This results in better sustain, improved tone and fewer unwanted vibrations travelling through the stands, so your toms sound open and lively without sacrificing stability.

Sunflower Sparkle Finish with Matching Snare

The Sunflower Sparkle finish gives the kit a striking, contemporary look that stands out under lights and in photos. With a matching 14" x 6.5" snare drum, the entire set has a cohesive, professional aesthetic that looks the part in any setting, from small club gigs to studio sessions and rehearsal rooms.
