Mapex Armory 22" Rock Fusion Acoustic Shell Pack in Red Onyx Burst

The Mapex Armory Series 5 Piece 22" Rock Fusion Shell Pack in Red Onyx Burst is a powerful, gig ready kit that blends modern punch with musical warmth. Featuring hybrid birch and maple shells, SONIClear bearing edges and a matching Armory Tomahawk snare, it is designed to tune easily, project clearly and respond beautifully whether you are in the studio or on stage.

At the heart of this kit is Mapex Hybrid Technology, combining the attack of birch with the smooth, full-bodied tone of maple. SONIClear edges and suspension mounts make tuning fast and consistent, while allowing the shells to resonate freely for a bigger, more open sound. Finished in a striking Red Onyx Burst high gloss lacquer over olivewood outer veneers, it looks every bit as serious as it sounds.

This Rock Fusion configuration gives you a versatile spread of sizes that can cover everything from tight, articulate grooves to huge rock backbeats. The included TH676 double tom holder with memory locks helps you dial in your ideal setup quickly and recall it every time. With upgraded Remo UC double-ply clear batter heads, you are ready to hit the rehearsal room or stage with a focused, controlled tone straight out of the box.

Completing the package is the Armory Tomahawk snare, a crisp, cutting centrepiece that delivers serious crack and articulation. Paired with low mass fittings, insulated bass drum claws and SONIClear floor tom feet, this shell pack is engineered to maximise tone, stability and reliability for drummers who demand performance from every component.

Hybrid Birch and Maple Shells

Mapex Hybrid Technology uses a 6 ply birch/maple/birch construction to balance clarity and warmth. Birch provides fast attack and definition, while the maple core adds body and musicality, giving you a punchy yet full tone that works across rock, pop, funk and beyond.

SONIClear Bearing Edges and Mounts

SONIClear bearing edges allow the head to sit flatter on the shell, improving contact and making tuning easier and more consistent. Paired with SONIClear suspension mounts and floor tom feet, the drums resonate more freely, delivering better sustain, projection and a wider tuning range.

Armory Tomahawk Snare Drum

The included Armory Tomahawk snare is designed to cut through dense mixes with a sharp, articulate crack. Its focused response and dynamic range make it ideal for rock and fusion players who need a snare that stays present and defined at all volumes.
