Mapex Armory 20" Fusion Acoustic Shell Pack in Black Onyx Burst

Please note - This Drum Kit does not come with hardware or cymbals included, they will need to be purchased separately.

The Mapex Armory Series 5 Piece 20" Fusion Shell Pack in Black Onyx Burst is a powerful, modern drum kit built around Mapex Hybrid Technology shells and premium SONIClear features. Combining birch and maple plies for a punchy yet musical voice, this compact fusion configuration delivers fast, focused tones that sit perfectly in any mix, from studio sessions to live stages.

With high gloss lacquer over striking olivewood outer veneers, upgraded Remo UC heads and the cutting-edge Tomahawk steel snare, this shell pack gives working drummers a professional sound and feel straight out of the box. Smart hardware touches such as SONIClear suspension mounts, floor tom feet and insulated bass drum claws make tuning easier, increase sustain and keep your sound consistent night after night.

Hybrid Birch/Maple Shells

At the heart of the Armory Series is Mapex Hybrid Technology, using a 6 ply birch/maple/birch construction. The birch layers provide fast attack and clarity, while the maple core adds warmth and musicality. This fusion of tonewoods gives you drums that cut through amplified bands without sounding harsh, making them ideal for rock, pop, worship and function work where you need definition and body in equal measure.

SONIClear Bearing Edges and Mounting

SONIClear bearing edges allow the drumheads to sit perfectly flat on the shell, improving contact and making tuning quicker and more predictable. Paired with SONIClear suspension mounts and floor tom feet, the shells are allowed to resonate more freely, giving you greater sustain, a wider tuning range and a more open, controlled tone at all dynamics.

Armory Tomahawk Snare Drum

This shell pack includes the Armory Tomahawk snare, a focused, cutting steel snare designed to deliver a crisp crack with plenty of body. Its bright, articulate voice excels in modern genres where backbeat definition is crucial, while still responding sensitively to ghost notes and lighter playing. It is a versatile centrepiece that complements the hybrid toms and bass drum perfectly.

Gig Ready Fusion Configuration

The 20" fusion configuration offers a balanced, compact footprint that suits smaller stages, home studios and tight pits without sacrificing low end. The 20" x 16" bass drum provides a punchy, controlled thump, while the 10" and 12" rack toms and 14" floor tom give you a versatile spread of pitches for fills and grooves. The included TH676 double tom holder with memory locks ensures fast, repeatable set up every time you play.

• M.H.T 6 Ply Birch/Maple/Birch Shells - The hybrid construction blends birch attack with maple warmth, giving you drums that project clearly while retaining a full, musical tone. This makes it easier to be heard in a band mix without overplaying, and gives engineers a sound that records cleanly with minimal effort.
• SONIClear Bearing Edges and Suspension - SONIClear bearing edges, suspension mounts and floor tom feet improve head-to-shell contact and allow the drums to resonate more freely. The result is quicker tuning, more consistent tone across the kit and a wider usable tuning range, so you can dial in everything from tight, modern punch to deeper, vintage-inspired warmth.
• Armory Tomahawk Snare Included - The included Tomahawk snare delivers a sharp, defined crack with plenty of cut, ideal for contemporary rock, pop and metal. Its responsive feel and strong projection mean your backbeat remains solid and present, even in louder environments.
• High Gloss Black Onyx Burst with Olivewood Veneer - The high gloss lacquer over olivewood outer veneers gives the kit a premium, boutique appearance. The Black Onyx Burst finish looks striking under stage lights and in the studio, helping your kit stand out visually as much as it does sonically.
