Lollar Novel sB Neck Pickup in Matte Black / Gold

The Lollar Novel sB Neck Pickup in Matte Black / Gold delivers a thick, sustaining voice with the clarity and definition of a high-end blade single coil. Designed to drop straight into a standard humbucker route, it offers a smoother, vocal midrange reminiscent of a vintage humbucker or P90, while keeping the articulation and touch sensitivity that Lollar pickups are known for.

Taking one coil from Lollar’s acclaimed dB humbucker and reimagining it as a standalone neck pickup, the Novel sB is ideal for players who want more body and bloom from their neck position without losing note separation. From expressive cleans to pushed amp tones, it responds beautifully to your picking dynamics and volume control, making it a superb choice for blues, rock, indie and beyond.

Visually, the Matte Black / Gold finish brings a modern, boutique aesthetic that will complement a wide range of guitars. Sonically, its lower DC resistance and blade design keep things open and clear, so chords stay defined and single notes sing, even with plenty of gain. Pair it with a Lollar dB humbucker in the bridge for a powerful, cohesive set that balances perfectly across all positions.

Blade-Style Single Coil in a Humbucker Route

The Novel sB Neck is built to fit a traditional humbucker pickup cavity, making it a genuine drop-in replacement for countless guitars. You get the feel and response of a blade single coil without any routing or modification, ideal if you want to upgrade your tone while keeping your instrument intact.

Thick, Clear and Expressive Neck Tones

Voiced for a thicker sound than a typical single coil, the Novel sB still retains outstanding clarity and definition. Expect a strong, vocal lower midrange with a smooth top end that flatters both clean and overdriven tones, giving you a neck sound that is full and musical without becoming muddy.

Sustain, Bloom and Vintage-Inspired Character

You will notice a stronger sustain and a pleasing bloom to the note’s attack, echoing the feel of a refined vintage humbucker or P90. This makes bends, vibrato and melodic lines feel more expressive under the fingers, helping your playing sit confidently in a mix while still cutting through.

Perfect Partner for the Lollar dB Humbucker

Derived from one side of the Lollar dB humbucker, the Novel sB is voiced to complement that pickup perfectly. Use it in the neck with a dB in the bridge for a matched set that shares the same aesthetic, output balance and tonal family, giving you a versatile and cohesive two-pickup rig.

• Drop-In Humbucker Replacement - Designed to fit a standard humbucker route, the Novel sB Neck installs easily into many popular guitars without extra routing, letting you transform your neck tone with minimal effort.
• Thick Yet Articulate Blade Single Coil Voice - The blade design delivers even string response and a thicker, more powerful sound than a traditional single coil, while preserving clarity so complex chords and fast runs remain defined.
• Singing Sustain and Vocal Midrange - With enhanced sustain and a smooth, vocal lower midrange, this pickup evokes the character of a vintage humbucker or P90, giving your neck position a rich, expressive quality that shines for leads and warm rhythm work.
• Optimised for Modern Wiring - With recommended 500k potentiometers and a 0.047μF capacitor, the Novel sB integrates seamlessly into contemporary wiring schemes, helping you dial in a responsive, open top end and a balanced overall tone.
