Product Description
The Lollar Novel sB Neck Pickup in Matte Black / Chrome delivers a thick, vocal single coil voice that drops straight into a standard humbucker route. Taking one coil from Lollar’s acclaimed dB humbucker, it offers a smooth, singing lower midrange with impressive sustain and bloom, while still retaining the clarity and definition players expect from Lollar’s blade-style designs.
Perfect for players who want the feel and focus of a refined vintage humbucker or P-90 without losing single coil articulation, the Novel sB excels at expressive lead work, dynamic clean tones and edge-of-breakup crunch. Pair it with a Lollar dB humbucker in the bridge for a powerful, aesthetically matched set, or use it alone to transform your neck position into a rich, articulate tone machine.
Blade-Style Single Coil in a Humbucker Route
The Novel sB is built around a single blade coil sized to fit a traditional humbucker cavity, making it a true drop-in replacement. That means you can upgrade your neck position without any routing or modification, gaining the benefits of a blade single coil while keeping your guitar’s existing mounting and look intact.
Thick, Clear and Expressive Tone
Voiced for a thicker sound than many single coils, the Novel sB still maintains outstanding clarity and note separation. The result is a tone that feels substantial under the fingers, with a vocal lower midrange and smooth top end that works beautifully for blues, rock, indie and more, without getting muddy.
Sustain, Bloom and Vintage-Inspired Character
One of the standout characteristics of the Novel sB is the way notes bloom after the initial attack. You get a strong, singing sustain and a rounded, musical response that recalls a smoother vintage humbucker or P-90, making bends, vibrato and melodic lines feel particularly rewarding to play.
Designed to Complement the Lollar dB Humbucker
Developed in response to players asking for a blade-style single coil that matches the sound, power and aesthetic of the full-sized dB humbucker, the Novel sB is an ideal neck partner for a dB in the bridge. This gives you a cohesive two-pickup setup with balanced output, consistent styling and a versatile spread of tones from neck to bridge.
Features
- Drop-In Humbucker Replacement - Sized to fit a standard humbucker route, the Novel sB installs without extra routing or modification, letting you upgrade your neck tone quickly and cleanly while keeping your guitar’s existing layout.
- Thicker Single Coil Voice with Clarity - Offers a fuller, thicker sound than many traditional single coils, yet retains excellent definition and string-to-string balance, giving you punchy chords and articulate leads that sit perfectly in a mix.
- Smooth Lower Midrange and Note Bloom - The vocal lower midrange and strong sustain give your playing a refined, vintage-inspired character, with a pleasing bloom after the initial pick attack that enhances expressive phrasing.
- Optimised for Use with Lollar dB Humbucker - Voiced to complement the Lollar dB in the bridge, the Novel sB provides a balanced neck option that matches the dB’s power and aesthetic, making it easy to build a cohesive, versatile pickup set.
