Product Description
The Kala Makala Classic Electro Acoustic Tenor Ukulele is a brilliant step-up choice for beginners and casual players who want great sound, easy playability and the option to plug in. With its warm mahogany build, comfortable tenor size and built-in PS-900 electronics, it is a versatile all-rounder that works just as well on the sofa as it does on stage or in the rehearsal room.
Unlike many entry-level instruments, the Makala Classic line focuses on tone and feel first. The satin-finished mahogany body and neck deliver a rich, mellow voice, while the longer tenor scale offers extra volume, projection and a little more room on the fretboard. Finished off with quality Aquila Super Nylgut strings and a simple, vintage-inspired look, this is a ukulele that makes learning and performing genuinely enjoyable.
Classic Makala Playability
The Makala Classic series is designed to make playing feel natural from day one. The tenor scale length of 16.875 inches and slightly wider fingerboard give your fretting hand more space, making chord shapes easier to form and clean up. Whether you are learning your first songs or moving into more advanced chord melody playing, the comfortable neck profile and smooth satin finish help your hands glide effortlessly up and down the fretboard.
Warm Mahogany Tone
With a mahogany top, back and sides, this tenor ukulele produces a warm, rounded sound that suits strumming, fingerpicking and everything in between. Mahogany is known for its balanced midrange and pleasing, woody character, giving you a full, musical tone that sits nicely in a mix or supports solo vocals. The slightly larger tenor body adds extra depth and projection, so your playing carries clearly without feeling harsh or brittle.
Stage Ready PS-900 Electronics
Thanks to the onboard PS-900 electronics, you can plug straight into an amp, PA or audio interface whenever you need more volume or want to record. This makes the Makala Classic Electro Acoustic Tenor ideal for open mics, school performances, worship settings or home recording. Having electronics built in means you can keep your setup simple and reliable, without needing extra clip-on pickups or external mics.
Aquila Super Nylgut Strings
Factory-fitted Aquila Super Nylgut strings help this ukulele sound its best right out of the box. These premium strings are designed to offer a bright, clear response with excellent tuning stability, so you spend more time playing and less time adjusting. Their responsive feel also rewards a light touch, making dynamics easier to control as you develop your technique.
Features
- Tenor Size Body - The larger tenor body and 16.875 inch scale length provide more volume, sustain and fretboard space than a soprano or concert ukulele, making it easier to play complex chords and melodic lines while still remaining compact and comfortable.
- All Mahogany Construction - Mahogany top, back and sides deliver a warm, balanced tone with a strong midrange presence, giving your chords a rich, musical character that works well for both strumming and fingerstyle playing.
- PS-900 Electro Acoustic System - Built-in PS-900 electronics let you plug directly into amps, PAs or recording gear, so you can take the same familiar instrument from practice to performance without changing your setup.
- Aquila Super Nylgut Strings - Quality Aquila Super Nylgut strings provide a clear, lively sound and reliable tuning stability, helping the ukulele speak with clarity and making it easier for beginners to stay in tune as they learn.
