Product Description
The Ibanez SR500N is a sleek, modern 4-string bass that delivers fast playability, powerful tonal flexibility and dependable performance in a stylish finish. With its slim SR neck, lightweight Okoume body, Nordstrand pickups and a versatile active Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ, this bass is built to handle everything from tight, articulate funk lines to deep, driving rock and metal grooves.
Sleek SR neck for effortless playability
The 5-piece roasted Maple and Walnut SR4 neck is slim, fast and comfortable — making complex lines, fast runs and extended sets far less tiring. Roasting the Maple improves stability and resistance to temperature and humidity changes, helping the neck stay true and in tune. What's more, a satin polyurethane finish keeps the feel smooth and non-sticky.
Slick Rosewood fingerboard
The Rosewood fingerboard offers a balanced, solid tone with a focused midrange that helps your lines sit clearly in the mix. While medium frets support accurate intonation and a controlled feel.
Lightweight Okoume body
The Okoume body keeps overall weight down, making the SR500N comfortable for long rehearsals and gigs. Tonally, it delivers a bright, solid response that pairs perfectly with the Nordstrand pickups for a clear, defined sound. Speaking of...
Nordstrand Big Break pickups & custom 3-band EQ
The dual Nordstrand Big Break pickups pack a powerful split-coil design into a soapbar housing, delivering a bold, full-bodied sound with plenty of punch and aggression. They retain the clarity and articulation associated with single-coils, while offering noiseless performance that is ideal for high-gain or studio environments.
The Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ offers precise control over bass, mid and treble, with a clever mid control that boosts and cuts at slightly different frequencies for a wide range of usable tones. An EQ bypass switch with passive tone control and a 3-way mid frequency switch further expand your tonal palette.
Features
- 5-piece roasted Maple/Walnut Neck: The roasted Maple and Walnut construction improves neck stability and resistance to environmental changes, helping your setup stay consistent. The slim SR profile and satin finish make fast, intricate playing feel natural and effortless.
- Nordstrand Big Break pickups: These powerful split-coil soapbar pickups deliver an aggressive, punchy tone with clear highs and tight lows, while remaining virtually noiseless. They are ideal for modern styles where definition and impact is essential.
- Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ: The active 3-band EQ lets you shape your sound quickly, from deep, dub-like lows to cutting, modern slap tones. The EQ bypass switch engages a passive mode where the treble knob becomes a global tone control, giving you both active flexibility and classic passive feel in one instrument.
- MR5S bridge: The MR5S bridge offers solid tuning stability and clear note definition, while allowing you to adjust string spacing by plus or minus 1.5 mm. This lets you fine-tune the feel under your right hand, whether you prefer tighter spacing for fast fingerstyle or a wider layout for slap and popping.
