Product Description
The Ibanez AZ24S2-BK AZ Standard is a sleek, modern workhorse built to cover everything from glassy cleans and bluesy crunch to high-gain riffing and fluid shred. With a fast Roasted Maple neck, versatile dual humbucker layout and the powerful dyna-MIX10 switching system, this blacked-out AZ is designed to keep up with whatever your setlist throws at it.
Every detail has been engineered with the player in mind. The comfortable AZ neck profile, Super All Access Neck Joint and jumbo stainless steel frets make intricate chords, wide bends and rapid-fire runs feel effortless. Add in the stable T106 tremolo, locking tuners and a resonant alder body, and you have a reliable, gig-ready instrument that feels familiar yet inspires new ideas every time you plug in.
Effortless Playability
The AZ24S2-BK features Ibanez’s AZ neck profile, paired with a Roasted Maple construction and a smooth Jatoba fretboard. The result is a neck that feels fast and comfortable in any position, with a satin-like feel that encourages long sessions without fatigue. The Super All Access Neck Joint removes the usual blockiness at the heel, so you can glide up to the 24th fret for high-register solos without having to fight the guitar.
Versatile Modern Tones
Loaded with Ibanez Modern Custom humbuckers, this AZ delivers a powerful, articulate voice that excels with overdrive and distortion, yet cleans up beautifully when you roll back the volume. The alnico V magnets provide punchy lows, focused mids and a crisp top end that cuts through a mix. Whether you are playing tight rhythm parts or singing lead lines, the pickups stay clear and responsive under the fingers.
dyna-MIX10 Switching
The dyna-MIX10 switching system with Alter Switch unlocks ten distinct pickup combinations from the two humbuckers. With a flick of the mini switch you can move between full humbucker and convincing single coil-style sounds, including the Power Tap mode for realistic, noise-reduced single coil tones. This gives you everything from thick, saturated rock tones to bright, funky cleans without changing guitar or touching your pedalboard.
Stable Hardware for Real-World Use
On the hardware side, the AZ24S2-BK is built to stay in tune and feel precise. The T106 tremolo bridge with six independent saddles allows accurate intonation and action tweaks for each string, while locking machine heads keep tuning rock solid through bends and tremolo use. Combined with the inherent balance and sustain of the alder body, you get a guitar that feels dependable on stage and in the studio.
Features
- Roasted Maple Neck - The heat-treated Roasted Maple neck offers enhanced stability and resistance to moisture and temperature changes, so your setup stays consistent from rehearsal room to stage. It also provides a snappy, responsive feel that translates your playing dynamics with clarity.
- Ibanez Modern Custom Humbuckers - A matched set of Ibanez Modern Custom pickups with alnico V magnets delivers a powerful, modern voice with tight lows and a cutting high end. They excel with gain, retaining note definition for complex chords and fast runs, while still offering smooth, expressive cleans.
- dyna-MIX10 Switching with Alter Switch - Ten different pickup configurations are available at your fingertips, letting you flip between humbucker and single coil-style tones in an instant. The Power Tap mode gives you convincing single coil character from a dual humbucker layout, making this guitar suitable for almost any genre or playing situation.
- T106 Tremolo and Locking Tuners - The T106 tremolo bridge with individually adjustable saddles makes it easy to dial in precise action and intonation, while locking machine heads help maintain tuning stability through aggressive playing and tremolo use. This combination keeps your sound consistent and your maintenance straightforward.
