Product Description
Brent Mason is a legendary country musician having featured on over 1000 albums, including hits by Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, George Jones and Alan Jackson. He’s also been inducted into the Hall of Fame, won a Grammy and earned twelve Guitarist of The Year awards from the Academy of Country Music. This limited-edition Brent Mason Telecaster is a brilliant celebration of the sounds he brought to the genre – a recreation of the prized guitar he discovered in a Nashville guitar shop in the early eighties. It’s based on '67 model that had been stripped of its original finish and re-sprayed in grey auto primer, but this particular model restores the guitar to its original black glory. He went on to fit it with new pickups and controls, as well as a bender system to shape a truly unique instrument with a storied history.
Seymour Duncan pickups and custom wiring
The pickup combination and wiring brings a completely unique sound to proceedings while still allowing you to access classic Tele tones. This Telecaster contains three Seymour Duncan pickups: a Vintage Stack in the bridge, Hot Stack Strat in the middle and Mini Humbucking in the neck. While the middle tone pot is activated, the middle Strat pickup combines with either of the two pickups either side of it when in the first or third switching positions to colour the voicing for Strat-like sounds. Set the pickup selector into the middle to activate all three pickups for a fat, warm sound with a sprinkle of high-end. Pull out on the middle pickup’s individual volume control to disable it and get your traditional Tele twang.
Glaser Bender system
Pedal steel guitar sounds have been and continue to be a core part of country rock. The Glaser Bender lets you tap into these super smooth pedal steel bends without having to pull off the bends by hand. Attach your guitar strap to the system on the neck plate, pull your guitar down as you play a G or B string and your pitch will curve upwards in a fluid motion for all your classic tones.
Vintage feel, modern quality of life touches
The Brent Mason Tele is equipped with a very comfortable vintage “C” neck filling out the hand and a luxury satin finish. Combined with the 7.25-inch radius fretboard and vintage tall fretwire, this guitar sings with bends. This is a classic country feeling instrument.
The contemporary touches come with the Sperzel locking for easy restringing, six saddle bridge for individual string intonation adjustment, and Dunlop locking strap buttons to ensure your guitar stays over your shoulder when performing.
