Fender Custom Shop Signature John 5 Electric Guitar in Black

The Fender Custom Shop John 5 Telecaster in Black takes the timeless outline of a double-bound Tele and arms it with modern hardware, hot-rodded electronics and a sleek, stage-ready aesthetic. Built in the USA to John 5’s exacting specifications, it is designed to deliver crushing high-gain tones, articulate cleans and rock-solid tuning stability in a guitar that feels instantly familiar under the fingers.

With its Enforcer humbucker, Custom Shop Twisted Tele neck pickup and intuitive control layout, this instrument is all about versatility and power. Whether you are chugging tight rhythm parts, ripping lead lines or sitting back with glassy cleans, the John 5 Telecaster responds with punch, clarity and attitude, all wrapped up in that unmistakable Custom Shop feel.

Modern Tele Powerhouse

At the heart of this guitar is a select ash body in a classic Telecaster shape, finished in sleek Black and framed by elegant binding. The combination of ash and a bolt-on maple neck gives you the snap, attack and resonance that players love about traditional Fenders, while the Custom Shop build quality ensures exceptional fit, finish and consistency. It is a familiar silhouette, but with a darker, more aggressive edge that suits John 5’s genre-hopping style.

High-Output Enforcer Humbucker

The bridge position is loaded with a Fender USA Enforcer humbucking pickup, delivering thick, high-output tones with plenty of bite. It is voiced to handle saturated gain without losing definition, making it ideal for modern rock and metal, yet it cleans up smoothly when you roll back the volume. Palm-muted riffs stay tight and focused, while lead lines sing with sustain and authority.

Custom Shop Twisted Tele Neck Pickup

Balancing the firepower at the bridge, the neck position features a Fender Custom Shop Twisted Tele single-coil. This pickup offers a broader frequency response than a traditional Tele neck unit, with more top-end clarity and a touch of Strat-like chime. The result is a neck tone that is perfect for fluid leads, soulful blues and shimmering cleans, while still retaining that unmistakable Tele character.

Fast, Comfortable Neck

The modern C-shaped maple neck with a 12 inch radius rosewood fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets is built for speed and precision. Bends feel effortless, chords remain comfortable across the entire neck and the gloss urethane finish provides a smooth, slick playing surface. Whether you are tackling intricate runs or heavy rhythm work, the neck profile and fretwork make it easy to play at your best for longer sessions.

Stage-Ready Hardware and Layout

A 6-saddle American Tele bridge with humbucker spacing ensures accurate intonation and solid tuning stability, while the deluxe cast/sealed locking tuners make string changes quick and reliable. The three-position toggle switch is placed on the upper bout for fast pickup changes, and individual volume controls for each pickup give you precise control over your blend and output. Combined with the striking matching painted headstock and modified Tele XII headstock shape, this is a guitar that looks as serious as it sounds.
