Redesigned V-Mod III Pickups

Fender’s V-Mod III P Bass split-coils are modified version of their classic vintage pickup designs packing the warm, large, round sound that has dominated classic records over the years. They’ll dish out a hefty midrange punch while remaining vocal and clear, ideal for anything from rock through to soul, pop, jazz, funk and blues. A tried-and-tested tone based on decades of use by the great bassists of our time.

1963-inspired playing feel

The American Professional Precision’s neck has been tweaked to feel like its 1963 ancestor. The neck developed from thick “C” shape at the first fret up to a thinner profile at the 12^th fret, making for a more ergonomic experience when you’re hitting those melodic lines. Complimenting this welcome change are rounded fingerboard edges and a Super-Natural satin finish to the maple neck, making the Precision feel familiarly played in even as you pick it up for the first time. With this five-string version, you get the extra range of a low B string ideal for the likes of metal, jazz and funk, and the benefit of two stacked octaves.

Ultra reliable Posiflex Graphite Truss rods

Although the American P Bass might capture the playing feel of the ’63 instrument, it certainly holds up better on the road. It’s equipped with a Posiflex graphite rod running through the neck to reinforce against movement that happens naturally as you travel with a guitar through different heats and climates. The real bone nut is another classic appointment ensuring vibrations transfer throughout the instrument for excellent sustain and stability. This is a highly reliable, functionable bass that holds tuning and intonation incredibly well.

All American Pro guitars including the Precision bass feature a sculpted neck heel and bevelled neck plate allowing for undeterred access to the upper frets, making lead style playing nice and easy. Also helping you feel comfy is the smooth HiMass Pro bass bridge, which feels great to rest your hand against while also aiding improved attack, sustain and resonance as the sound travels through the body of the guitar.

Helping you play expressively and with total control are the upgraded ClassicGear Precision potentiometers, delivering a smooth consistent custom torque as you swell volume and tone.

• Modified '63 P Bass Neck Profile – refined to be thicker at the 1st fret and thinner at the 12th fret for a more ergonomic playing experience. The Super-Natural satin finish on the back of the neck provides a smooth fret-hand feel complemented by rounded fingerboard edges.

• Posiflex Graphite Rods – reinforce neck against movement that can occur with fluctuations in the climate. Embedded beneath the fingerboard, they improve reliability on the road, in the studio or in your home.

• HiMass Pro Bridge – Increases sustain and note definition thanks to its high-mass construction delivering improved attack and resonance at every fret position.
