Product Description
The ESP LTD Surveyor-204DX in Red Burst is a slick, modern 4-string bass that blends classic looks with contemporary performance. With its active electronics, roasted maple neck and rock-solid hardware, it is built to deliver punchy, articulate tones for everything from tight funk lines to heavy rock and metal. Whether you are stepping up from your first bass or need a reliable workhorse for the stage, the Surveyor-204DX gives you pro-ready feel and sound at a very accessible price.
Its bolt-on construction and 34 inch scale length provide a familiar, responsive playing experience, while the Thin U neck profile and 400 mm radius rosewood fingerboard make fast runs, big bends and extended sets feel effortless. Finished in a striking Red Burst with matching black hardware and silver block inlays, it looks every bit as bold as it sounds.
Under the bonnet, the active LTD DB-4 pickups and LJB preamp give you a wide tonal palette, from deep, rounded lows to bright, cutting highs. The simple Volume, Balance and Tone Boost controls make it easy to dial in your sound quickly, whether you are in the studio or on stage. With dependable LTD Vintage hardware and D'Addario XL165 strings straight out of the box, this bass is ready to plug in and play.
Modern Playability
The roasted maple neck with Thin U profile and 400 mm radius rosewood fingerboard offers a fast, comfortable feel that suits a wide range of styles. Combined with the 34 inch scale length and 21 extra-jumbo frets, the Surveyor-204DX makes it easy to play cleanly across the entire neck, from low-end grooves to higher-register fills and solos.
Powerful Active Electronics
Equipped with an LTD DB-4 active pickup set and LJB active preamp, this bass delivers a strong, focused signal with plenty of headroom. The active design helps your tone cut through dense mixes, keeping your low end tight and defined while still offering enough clarity and presence for more melodic playing.
Simple, Effective Controls
The straightforward Volume, Balance and Tone Boost layout lets you shape your sound quickly without getting lost in complex switching. Blend between the pickups for everything from warm, rounded tones to brighter, more aggressive sounds, then use the Tone Boost to add extra bite or depth as needed for different songs or venues.
Stage-Ready Style and Reliability
The Red Burst finish, black hardware and silver block inlays give the Surveyor-204DX a distinctive, eye-catching look that stands out under stage lights. With a solid poplar body, bolt-on construction and LTD Vintage bridge, it is designed to stay stable and in tune, night after night.
