If you have placed your order online, you will receive a confirmation email of your order and a separate follow-up text or email to confirm when your item is ready for collection.
Please do not come to the store before you have received the follow-up message, as your order may not yet be ready at the store.
If the only available stock is in our off-site warehouse it can be brought to the store location for you to try - you just need to contact the store within opening hours. Please note any requests received after 3.30pm will not arrive at the store until the following morning.
Please be aware that, unless you have paid a deposit to reserve the item, it will continue to be free, both online and in-store, for another customer to buy. Therefore we would advise you to place a 10% deposit by either using the on-line click and collect service or calling us 01483 456777.

Product Description
The EMG S4 is a passive rail bridge pickup that delivers the punch and authority of a modern humbucker with the clarity and bite of a classic single coil. Using a dual-coil rail design with ceramic magnets, it serves up a tight, beefy low end, focused mids and crisp, articulate highs that cut through any mix without sounding harsh.
Unlike many overwound rail pickups, the S4 is carefully voiced to stay open and dynamic. You get plenty of output and girth for rock and metal, but with enough top-end sparkle and note separation to handle clean tones, funk rhythms and expressive lead work. Fully shielded construction keeps noise to a minimum, while EMG’s solderless wiring system makes installation fast and hassle free.
Rail Coil Design
The S4 uses a side-by-side dual-coil rail layout, ensuring every string is captured evenly, even under extreme bends or aggressive vibrato. The continuous rails eliminate dead spots and drop-outs, giving you a smooth, consistent response across the entire fretboard that is ideal for precise riffing and fluid lead lines.
Ceramic Magnet Punch
Ceramic magnets give the S4 its tight, controlled low end and assertive midrange, helping your riffs stay defined and powerful at high gain settings. At the same time, the pickup retains the bright, cutting top end associated with traditional single coils, so your tone stays lively and present rather than muddy or dull.
Balanced Output, Not Overwound
Because the S4 is not overwound, it avoids the congested, compressed character that can plague some high-output rail pickups. Instead, you get a balanced voice with plenty of headroom, making it easier to clean up with your volume control and respond to your picking dynamics, whether you are playing subtle chords or full-bore solos.
Solderless Installation
Every EMG S4 comes with EMG’s passive solderless wiring kit, allowing you to drop the pickup into your guitar with minimal fuss. Pre-fitted connectors and included pots, jack and cables mean you can rewire your instrument cleanly and reliably without touching a soldering iron, and experiment with different wiring options more easily.
