EarthQuaker Limited Edition Afterneath V3 Otherworldly Reverberation Machine

The EarthQuaker Devices Limited Edition Afterneath V3 takes the cult classic ambient reverb and pushes it even further into uncharted territory. With a brand new Otherworldly Reverb algorithm, nine selectable modes and full expression or CV control over the Drag parameter, this compact stompbox transforms your signal into shimmering caves, pitch warped soundscapes and glitchy, rhythmic echoes at the flick of a switch.

Whether you want subtle, haunting ambience behind clean chords or to completely dissolve your guitar into a swirling mass of delays, the Afterneath V3 gives you the tools to sculpt truly unique textures. The updated control layout, tails switching and Flexi Switch footswitching make it just as practical on a busy pedalboard as it is inspiring in the studio.

Modern Ambient Classic, Evolved

The original Afterneath quickly became a favourite with experimental players, producers and soundtrack composers thanks to its swarm of short digital delays that behave like a living, breathing reverb. V3 refines that core sound with an advanced Otherworldly Reverb algorithm, offering even smoother, more responsive ambience while retaining the strange, cavernous character that made it a modern classic.

Nine Inspiring Reverb Modes

At the heart of V3 is a powerful mode control giving you nine different ways to bend and pitch the reverb tails. From chromatic and pentatonic pitch shifts for eerie, melodic ambience through to more abstract, modulated and rhythmic settings, each mode responds differently to your playing. That means a single pedal can cover subtle pads, organ like drones, pitch climbing swells and glitchy, percussive repeats without touching another effect.

Expression and CV for Deep Control

The dedicated expression jack lets you take hands free command of the Drag parameter, which controls the spacing of the internal delay lines. Plug in any standard expression pedal or a 0 to 5 V CV source and you can sweep from tight, clustered reflections to vast, stretched out echoes in real time. This makes the Afterneath V3 incredibly expressive for live swells, synth like filter sweeps and evolving textures that react to your performance.

Stage Ready Switching and Layout

Reflect and Drag have been repositioned to work intuitively with the new mode control, so you can dial in sounds quickly on a dark stage. EarthQuaker Devices Flexi Switch technology gives you both latching and momentary operation from the same footswitch, opening up stuttered bursts of ambience or instant wash on held chords. A tails on or off option means you can choose whether your reverb decays naturally after bypass or cuts out immediately, depending on your set and playing style.

• Advanced Otherworldly Reverb Algorithm - The updated core engine delivers smoother, richer ambience while preserving the signature swarm of delays that defines the Afterneath sound. You get everything from subtle cave like space to dense, shimmering walls of reverb that sit beautifully around your dry tone.
• Nine Versatile Reverb Modes - Onboard chromatic, pentatonic and other pitch based modes unlock eerie, harmonised tails and melodic textures without extra pedals. Each mode reshapes how the delays interact, giving you a huge palette of ambient, rhythmic and experimental sounds in a single box.
• Expression and CV Control Over Drag - The expression jack accepts any standard expression pedal or 0 to 5 V CV, letting you morph the delay spacing on the fly. This turns the Afterneath V3 into a powerful performance tool for swells, pitch dives, glitchy jumps and evolving drones that respond directly to your foot or external sequencer.
• Flexi Switch and Selectable Tails - EarthQuaker Devices Flexi Switch technology allows both latching and momentary operation from the same footswitch, so you can use the pedal as a traditional always on reverb or as a momentary burst of atmosphere. The tails on or off option lets you decide whether the effect decays naturally after bypass or stops dead for tight, rhythmic playing.
