Product Description
Danelectro came charging back in the late ’90s with all their brilliantly quirky, retro swagger — and they’ve done far more than just ride the nostalgia wave. They’ve taken everything that made those original designs so distinctive and given them a modern edge. If you’re after an affordable 12‑string electric that’s dripping with character and doesn’t just blend into the background, this one absolutely deserves a spot on your shortlist.
Shorthorn semi-hollow vibes
Built around the iconic ’59 Shorthorn shape, the Danelectro 59DC 12-String’s semi-hollow design delivers that unmistakable airy, resonant feel. Strummed unplugged or pushed through an amp, it’s bright, lively and full of that classic shimmer you want from a 12‑string.
Lipstick pickup sparkle
A pair of Lipstick single-coils bring all the chime you’d expect from a proper Dano. We’re talking crisp top end, punchy mids and enough low-end warmth to keep things sounding full. It’s that instantly recognisable jangle you’ve heard across decades of vintage pop and rock — all controlled via a simple three-way switch and master volume and tone.
Slinky vintage feel
With a 25" scale length and 21 frets, this ’59DC feels easy under the fingers while still giving you a nice snappy response. The bolt-on Maple neck adds a bit of extra bite and clarity too, helping your chords and melodies really pop.
Stays sweet all the way up the neck
Many 12‑strings can be tricky to keep sounding tight and in tune. Thankfully, this one’s equipped with a fully adjustable bridge, so you can dial in each string pair properly. That means clear, musical chords all the way up the neck instead of a muddy mess.
Features
- 12-string shimmer: This guitar dishes out huge, airy choral tones that fill the room — perfect for dreamy soundscapes, classic rock textures and anything that needs a touch of celestial magic!
- Semi-hollow Shorthorn body: A cool double-cut shape that’s light, well-balanced and dripping with mojo, making it super easy to play whether you’re on stage or kicking back at home.
- Lipstick pickups: Danelectro’s legendary single-coils, delivering all that vibey chime and jangly character that cuts effortlessly through a busy mix.
- Fully adjustable bridge: Dial in your setup with ease thanks to precise height and intonation adjustment, keeping every string pair sounding clear and in tune up the neck.
