D'Addario EXL170 Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings, Light, 45-100, Long Scale 2-Pack

D’Addario EXL170TP Nickel Wound bass strings are a twin-pack of the brand’s best-selling light gauge set, giving you bright, tight, and reliably punchy tone for two full restrings. With a comfortable 45 to 100 gauge spread and long scale design, they suit a huge range of 4-string basses and musical styles, from pop and funk to rock and beyond.

Built around D’Addario’s high-carbon hex core and precision-wound nickel-plated steel wrap wire, EXL170 strings offer rock-solid tuning stability, a consistent feel across the neck, and impressive durability. Whether you are a busy gigging bassist or recording regularly, this 2-pack keeps your sound fresh and focused while offering excellent value.

Bright, Versatile Nickel-Plated Tone

EXL170 strings use nickel-plated steel wrap wire to deliver a clear, bright top end with tight, defined lows. This makes them incredibly versatile, cutting through a mix without ever sounding harsh. From fingerstyle and pick playing to slap, these strings respond musically and let your technique shine in almost any genre.

Comfortable Light Gauge Feel

With gauges of 45w, 65w, 80w, and 100w, this light set feels smooth and easy under the fingers while still providing enough tension for confident, controlled playing. The softer feel reduces hand fatigue during long rehearsals and gigs, making them a great choice if you value playability as much as tone.

Stable, Durable Hex Core Construction

At the heart of each string is D’Addario’s hex-shaped high-carbon steel core, designed for excellent tuning stability and long-lasting performance. The hex core locks the wrap wire firmly in place, helping the strings stay in tune, resist kinks, and maintain a consistent feel and tone over time.

Long Scale 2-Pack Convenience

This EXL170TP set is made for standard long scale basses, with a ball to taper length of 36.25 inches to suit most common 4-string instruments. Supplied as a 2-pack, it offers practical value for working players, ensuring you always have a fresh set ready without needing to reorder after every restring.
