Product Description
If you’re chasing a stellar Superstrat, the Charvel American Neo-Classic Series San Dimas Style 1 should definitely make your shortlist. With its iconic Alder S-style body and a pair of high-output Seymour Duncan humbuckers, it ticks all the right boxes. But modern upgrades like stainless steel frets and Luminlay side dots bring it bang up to date, making this an old-school shred machine with a cool, contemporary edge.
Built for feel, speed & stability
The one-piece quartersawn Maple neck is straight out of the ‘80s playbook, but with graphite reinforcement for extra stability. The 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard is a dream too: comfy for chords down low, then flattening out for fast, fluid lead work higher up the neck. Add in 22 jumbo stainless steel frets, silky rolled edges, an easy-access truss rod wheel and glow-in-the-dark Luminlay side dots, and you’ve got a neck that feels properly dialled-in and ready to rock.
A pickup combo that covers it all
Loaded with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a ’59 in the neck, this Charvel San Dimas is as versatile as it is punchy. The ’59 gives you that warm, expressive vintage tone for leads and thick rhythm parts, while the JB delivers all the output and bite you need for everything from classic rock to full-on modern metal. It’s a tried-and-tested humbucker combo that just works.
Rock-solid bridge & no-nonsense controls
The Charvel hardtail bridge is built to take a beating, with its high-mass design boosting sustain and resonance. And the controls are nice and simple, with a smooth, low-friction volume pot and 5-way blade switch. That means you can focus on playing rather than tweaking!
Features
- Alder body: A classic tonewood choice that gives you a balanced response. We’re talking punchy mids, tight lows and just the right amount of top-end sparkle to help you cut through.
- 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard with rolled edges: Nicely rounded down low for comfortable chords, then flattens out as you move up the neck for fast runs, big bends and easy shredding. The rolled edges give it that smooth, broken-in feel straight out of the box.
- 22 jumbo stainless-steel frets: These frets stay shiny and smooth for ages, giving you slick, glass‑like bends and consistently clean intonation.
- Luminlay side dots: Never lose your place on a dimly‑lit stage again! These glowing markers have your back when the lights go down.
- Seymour Duncan JB/’59 pickups humbuckers: The ’59 in the neck delivers warm, vintage-style tones with loads of clarity, while the JB in the bridge cranks out high-output punch, bite and sustain.
- Included Charvel hardshell gig bag: Tough, reliable protection that’s ready for rehearsals, gigs and life on the road without weighing you down.
