Product Description
The Celestion Gold 12" Alnico is a premium 50 watt guitar speaker that captures the magic of classic British chime while offering far greater power handling than vintage designs. With its expressive midrange, silky top end and tight, musical low frequencies, it delivers that unmistakable Alnico sweetness whether you are playing sparkling cleans, edge of break-up crunch or singing lead lines.
Designed as a high power evolution of the legendary Blue, the Gold retains the same touch sensitivity and harmonic richness but with more headroom and authority. Its 100dB sensitivity means it feels lively and immediate under the fingers, responding to every nuance of your picking and volume control. If you want a speaker that makes your amp feel bigger, more three dimensional and more inspiring to play, the Celestion Gold is a superb choice.
Available in 8 ohm or 15 ohm versions, the Gold is built around a classic pressed steel chassis, an Alnico magnet and a 1.75" round copper voice coil. This combination delivers a broad, musical frequency range from 75Hz up to 5kHz, ensuring full-bodied lows, present yet smooth mids and a detailed but never harsh top end. It is equally at home in boutique combos, vintage style amps and modern pedal platforms.
Whether you are upgrading a single speaker combo or voicing a multi speaker cabinet, the Celestion Gold brings a refined, articulate character that flatters almost any amp. From blues and rock through to indie and worship styles, it adds a classy, harmonically rich voice that helps your tone sit perfectly in a mix while still feeling inspiring on stage.
Classic Alnico Character
The heart of the Celestion Gold is its Alnico magnet, which delivers the signature compression, sweetness and musical break-up players associate with vintage British speakers. As you push your amp, the Gold responds with smooth, singing sustain and a rounded top end that tames harshness and flatters overdrive pedals.
High Power Handling with Vintage Feel
With a 50 watt power rating, the Gold can comfortably handle more powerful amps than many traditional Alnico designs. You get the feel and response of a classic speaker but with added headroom and reliability, making it ideal for gigging players who want authentic tone at modern stage volumes.
Highly Sensitive and Dynamic
A sensitivity rating of 100dB means the Celestion Gold is very efficient, giving you more perceived volume and punch from your amp. This responsiveness translates into excellent dynamics, so subtle changes in pick attack and guitar volume are clearly expressed, helping your playing feel more connected and expressive.
Wide, Musical Frequency Response
With a frequency range from 75Hz to 5000Hz and a resonance at 75Hz, the Gold offers tight, controlled lows, a rich, vocal midrange and a smooth, airy top end. This balanced response works brilliantly for both clean and driven sounds, helping your guitar sit well in a band mix without getting lost or becoming overly bright.
This is the 15 Ohm version of the Celestion Gold, offering the same legendary Alnico tone with impedance suited for compatible amp and cabinet configurations.
