SSS Electric Guitars
SSS Electric Guitars
SSS electric guitars have been around since the '50s. When Fender brought its flagship Stratocaster model to the market in 1954, it arguably set the precedent for electric guitar design going forward. That's why a whole bunch of brands now adhere to the trusted SSS pickup configuration with their own instruments.
The SSS setup is regarded as versatile by most players. This is because the majority of electric guitars with an SSS configuration will feature 5-way pickup selector switches. These allow you to not only flick between the three single-coils in the neck, middle and bridge positions, but they also allow you to attain "out-of-phase" tones that combine their middle pickups with either the neck or bridge coils.
