SSS Electric Guitars
SSS Electric Guitars
Since Fender debuted the iconic Stratocaster in 1954, the SSS pickup configuration (three single-coil pickups in the neck, middle and bridge positions) has become a staple of classic guitar tone.
Single coils are the best choice for pristine cleans, producing a bright, clear tone with extended highs and bell-like chime. Generally utilising 5-way pickup selector switches, SSS setups are surprisingly versatile too, unlocking a range of tones from punchy bridge leads to out-of-phase tones like the distinct neck/middle quack.
Our range of SSS electric guitars includes options from Fender of course, with plenty of gorgeous authentic stratocasters, as well as Squier and EastCoast who offer more beginner-friendly options with great value for money. Ibanez and PRS have a range of premium strat-inspired SSS guitars with modern upgrades, including signature models from Ichika Nito and John Mayer.
Ultimately, if you want true, fully authentic strat tones and singing cleans, an SSS electric guitar is the choice for you. If you want to find out more about pickups, pickup configurations and which choice is right for you, check out our Ultimate Guide to Guitar Pickups.
