Product Description

Tremolo is the subtlest and simplest of modulation effects and as such, no good amp should be without it. However, as it turns out, many of them are. Choka Tremolo’s intuitive 3-knob layout lets you easily crank out fast waves that either cut deep or leave shallow furrows across your tone, or slow tides that ebb and flow with just the right amount of white-capped tubes you need for a satisfactory surf tone.

Surf’s up, bro! Hang loose!

Bought this to use with my Supro Delta King 12 also bought from Andertons. Rarely use anything else these days.

I bought this to go on my backup pedalboard and took a chance as I never tried one before. Great warm vintage tremelo and a bargain price. Sounds the equal of my other trem pedal and a third of the price.

The tremolo itself sounds good, and the different waveforms and rate adjustments provide a very nice range of options. However, there is a lot of volume drop--not just the tremolo effect adjusting the volume but the overall volume of the signal chain drops off quite a bit. It's also not as small as the "cigarette-box" pedals TC Electronic is making these days.

I wanted a simple no frills tremolo pedal to add to my pedal board. This provided exactly what I expected and at a great price. I am sure that the more expensive options provide greater versatility but with my setup these would be wasted. I must confess a preference to many T C Electronic products; I have two other pedals from this provider; the Spark is another excellent and very competitively priced pedal.

The TC Electronic Chocka Tremolo pedal sounds brilliant! Having had 60s amps with built-in tremolo over the decades (1962 tan Vox AC15 and 1966 Epiphone EA32RVT Comet), I found that pedal-based trems didn't really produce the slightly harder-edged wave required for really nailing the sound I needed. I tried a Danelectro Tuna Melt (too fiddly to stomp on and off when playing live), and the highly regarded Carl Martin Trem-O-Vibe, but both were just too characterless for me. With its LFO control set at about 10 o'clock, the Chocka totally nails that 50s-60s trem sound, and with my Fender '63 Reverb pedal after it in the chain, gives me the kinda depth and flavour that really makes my playing come alive. So, all-in-all, thumbs up for Anderton's and TC Electronic!
