When Suhr launched the original Riot 2009 no one expected just how well this pedal would do. It produces an incredible classic high gain tone with excellent response. Some people wanted more though, to be able to take the same responsiveness and apply it to modern styles. This is where the Riot Reloaded comes in. Juiced up with 30% more gain, a whole new set of voicings and a re-imagined tone control, this is the beefiest pedal Suhr have made so far.
Better Dynamics, More Gain
While the original Riot aimed for a 100w valve stack amp sound, the Riot Reloaded wants to turn your clean combo into a wall of high gain heads with more gain and better response. This means the Riot Reloaded will not only produce more sustain, but also respond more dynamically to how you are playing and to the volume control on your guitar. Your distortion will sound more amp-like thanks to these tweaks.
Three New Voicings
While the original Riot's 3 modes focused on modern, classic and amp impersonation, the Riot Reloaded takes things to further extremes. The pedal is inherently more amp-like, therefore that original setting is now gone. We're left with a classic rock distortion, modern mode with a tighter low end, and a new well as a scooped mode for when attack matters more than presence.
