The Mesa Boogie Rosette DI-Preamp is one of the most comprehensive acoustic guitar preamp pedals we've ever seen! Although this flexible pedal is packed full of features and has plenty of tone-shaping power, Mesa's ethos was to simply "reproduce" the sound of an acoustic guitar rather than "enhance" it with their Rosette DI-Preamp - ensuring the most natural amplified acoustic sound possible.
Boasting the same front-end and EQ circuitry found in Mesa Boogie's full-sized Rosette 300 acoustic amp, the DI-Preamp pedal produces a sound akin to that from a high-end recording console. This guarantees the purest signal path and low-noise operation, while simultaneously ensuring both detailed and harmonically-rich musicality.
Accommodates Almost Any Acoustic Guitar
As you would expect from a professional mixing console, both input gain and phase are addressed with the 'Input' control and dedicated 'Phase' switch. This means that a variety of high-impedance acoustic pickup systems can be handled via the optimised, current source-biased FET input stage. The phase relation between pickup output and whatever speakers are being driven can be mitigated by flipping the 'Phase' switch on the Rosette DI - for easy comparison to decrease or eliminate feedback, or even improve your overall tone.
Eliminate Feedback Easily
It doesn't end there either. That's because Mesa Boogie included two additional sweepable filters that help to eliminate feedback, which is essential for live performances. The 'Notch Filter' cuts a chosen frequency in a narrow band, ultimately to remove annoying resonant frequencies that can cause feedback, while the 'Hi-Pass' cuts frequencies in the sub-harmonic range to prevent feedback and also tighten up the low-end.
A footswitchable boost circuit is built into the Rosette Acoustic DI-Preamp. This can be used to raise the overall volume for specific musical passages or even solos, which can be simply adjusted via the dedicated 'Boost Level' control. Additionally, a footswitchable 'Mute' function is also included - muting the signal at the rear panel outputs but not silencing the side 'Tuner' output, enabling you to employ silent tuning between songs.
Versatile EQ Section
The fully professional EQ section incorporates fixed shelving 'Bass' and 'Treble' controls plus two semi-parametric 'Mid' bands covering low and high mid-range frequencies. These can overlap for control over adjacent mid-range frequencies or can be used to combat feedback while the other is applied for tone-shaping duties.
