Product Description

iZotope’s Stutter Edit 2 improves on its predecessor by introducing new features to give you even more sounds and control than before. Stutter Edit came from the mind of Grammy award-nominated musician BT and was developed by iZotope to give you that famous stutter effect at just the press of a button. Stutter Edit 2 lets you play the stutter effect like an instrument, making it much quicker and easier to achieve a rhythmic and musical stutter effect.

Stutter Effect

With Stutter Edit 2 you can achieve a stutter effect in two ways. You can use the generator to add huge sweeps and drops, or you can use Stutter mode which mashes up the audio. Stutter Edit 2 uses a system of “Gestures” which are preset stutter effects that you can control via MIDI. This allows you to assign different stutter sounds to different keys on a controller and play the stutter sounds with fluidity and musicality.

New Features

Stutter Edit 2 adds new effects modules giving you even more sonic avenues to explore. In addition to the delays, beat repeaters, filters, and more, you get Comb and Chorus modules, a full-featured reverb, and a two-band Distort module. There are also new banks and gestures designed by BT to play with. Banks auto-map to your keyboard giving you multiple gestures at your disposal. You can shape any of the effects using the new Curve Editor to shape exactly how the effect moves.

There are also improvements that help you work more intuitively in Stutter Edit 2. Firstly, the UI has been improved with a logical workflow, a dedicated output section, easier controls in the Stutter mode, and a flexible way to save banks and gestures. The new AUTO mode lets you try out sounds in your mix at just the press of a button without having to commit fully, and also helps you set up your MIDI controller.
