    Product Description

For players who want the style and sound of Fender’s classic years, the Vintera® ‘70s Telecaster is right up your alley. Equipped with the coveted features that defined the decade—including period-accurate neck profile and playing feel—this guitar has all of the articulation and punch that made the Telecaster a legend.

    Time Honoured Alder Body

This '70s Vintera Tele has a period correct Alder body. From mid '56 onwards Fender adopted Alder bodies for all of its electric guitars, for its balanced tonal qualities, that laid a perfect foundation for the rest of the instrument. Alder is a lightweight wood, which is good for both comfort and resonance. It also has a balanced tone with pronounced upper midrange presence, giving the guitar brightness and clarity - contributing to that textbook Tele "twang".

    Authentic Old-School Feel

With a vintage "C" profile neck, 7.25" fingerboard radius and 21 vintage frets, there's no doubt that this guitar feels like an old Tele! The vintage "C" feels reassuringly full in the palm without the uncomfortably massive "baseball bat" feel of those early '50s Teles. It feels like a Modern "C" that fills the palm a little more - a perfect blend of vintage feel and modern comfort

Fender used a 7.25" radius on its guitars all the way until the mid '80s, so this is correct for a '70s Tele. The slightly more curved feel allows you to play chords more comfortably, especially barre chords. The vintage frets are smaller than the more modern medium-jumbo frets, allowing for more precise intonation and a better sound transfer to the wood for a mellower, warmer tone.

There a few guitar pairings more iconic iconic than a Tele and a Maple neck. Maple is a hardwood that offers plenty of neck stability and resistance to warping over time. It also accentuates the bass and treble characteristics for snap and fullness.

    Vintage Tone with a "Twist"

The "Twisted" Tele pickups are our favourite Fender Tele Pickups. With all the classic power and bite you'd want from a Tele bridge pickup, and a bit of a twist in the neck. People sometimes complain that Tele neck pickups are dark, muddy or uninspiring. This guitar has no such issue. The twisted Tele neck pickup is very unique, combining elements of a classic Tele and Strat pickups, for a "stratty" neck tone. It features taller bobbins to accommodate more windings to get the sparkle and throatiness of a Strat neck pickup. It uses formvar magnet wire for extra glassiness and shimmer.

In the bridge there are no surprises - it's all Tele! This high output pickup is ready-made for rocking! With bucketloads of clarity and aggression, you can get everything from Brad Paisley country twang to Keith Richards Rock 'n' Roll!
