Fender Player Series Jazz Basses
Fender Player Series Jazz Basses
The Fender Player Series Jazz Bass, launched in 2018, served as the direct replacement for the Mexican Standard series and offered several significant upgrades while maintaining an accessible price point. These Fender bass guitars are made in Fender's factory in Ensenada, Mexico and are designed for the modern player, featuring both contemporary and vintage-inspired elements. They retain the iconic offset body, available in classic and new color finishes, and the dual single-coil pickup configuration that provides the timeless, growling Fender Jazz Bass tone. The Player series represents a higher quality and more performance-focused instrument compared to the Standard series it replaced.
Key Features Of The Fender Player Series Jazz Bass Guitars
Key upgrades in the Fender Player Series include a new set of Alnico 5 single-coil pickups, which provide a warmer, more powerful, and dynamically responsive sound compared to the ceramic pickups found in the older Standard models. The neck features a comfortable "Modern C" profile with a smooth satin finish on the back for fast and fluid playability, and it comes with a 9.5-inch fingerboard radius and 20 medium jumbo frets. Hardware improvements include a 4-saddle bridge with slotted saddles for enhanced tuning stability and a punchier attack, as well as open-gear tuning machines. The Fender Player series is available in 4-string, 5-string, and fretless versions, catering to a wide range of bassists.
