The PJE Legacy acoustics are at the top-end of the Faith range. Unveiled at the 2017 NAMM Show, these acoustics deliver excellent sounds and offer immense playability.

Sound, Feel and Construction:

The Earth’s body shape is modestly-sized and unobtrusive, meaning you can play effortlessly without feeling like anything is in your way. A single-cutaway design means that you can easily access the upper frets, if playing some high-register lead parts is something your music requires!

The solid African Khaya mahogany back and sides produce a warm and rich tone, with plenty of bottom-end. A Torrified Sitka Spruce top helps bring out some top-end, sounding crisp and defined for some gentle finger-picked phrases. If you’re a singer-songwriter, this guitar will perfectly support your vocals thanks to its lush, full-bodied sound.

The satin-finished neck feels smooth and fast, not hindering you in any way. This is particularly good if you sweat a lot on stage, as the finish will not feel sticky or inconsistent. A Macassan Figured Ebony fretboard adds a further element of finesse, not only giving the guitar a high-end look but feeling smooth and fast under your fingertips. Ebony also blends well with the mahogany body and neck, to deliver a balanced tone with a solid mid-range that will let you cut through.

This guitar will make you play better, strong words but I can't put this guitar down and there is nothing about this guitar that gets in the way; the neck is wonderful, the action is perfect for barre chords, the string spacing makes fingerpicking less fraught, the torrified top and solid mahogany back and sides pour pure acoustic joy from the soundhole..... A stunning instrument, This guitar plays wonderfully straight away. I had long been intrigued at what difference a torrified top might make to a guitar and was a little suspicious of the claims that it makes a guitar play like a ten year old instrument, however upon playing this guitar for less that a week I was already getting that familiar feel and deep richness that I get when playing my older Martin guitar. I found the action nice and low and the intonation perfect, the satin neck is a joy to hold and the attention to detail in the build is faultless. This guitar was not included in the Andertons You Tube video of the Faith Legacy series but as this was based on the famous PJE LInville and has an OM body size it was the perfect accompaniment to my growing guitar collection, and had it been played during the review video I'm certain that it would have sold out before I had the chance to get mine. I play mainly fingerstyle and this guitar responds to both a strong and gentle touch producing beautiful tones across the spectrum and is especially sweet whilst using a capo. in conclusion; if you are in the market for a serious guitar at the £1000 - £1500 mark and want solid wood construction and a torrified top you must try this guitar. A similar spec guitar made in either the UK or the US would cost well over double the price of this and surely couldn't sound twice as good ( it would do well to sound as good). It looks a lot better in real life that in the photos as well !
