Please do not come to the store before you have received the follow-up message, as your order may not yet be ready at the store.
If the only available stock is in our off-site warehouse it can be brought to the store location for you to try - you just need to contact the store within opening hours. Please note any requests received after 3.30pm will not arrive at the store until the following morning.

The Austrian Audio CC8-SC is a supercardioid true condenser microphone designed to give you maximum focus, clarity and control in both studio and live environments. With ultra-low self-noise, huge SPL handling and a precisely tuned OCC7 capsule, it delivers a clean, natural and highly isolated sound that cuts through rumble and spill with surgical precision.
Handcrafted in Vienna, the CC8-SC combines a transformerless circuit with a carefully voiced frequency response, offering smooth highs, controlled lows and an exceptionally linear midrange. Whether you are capturing delicate acoustic instruments or tight, punchy drums, it provides a transparent signal that responds beautifully to processing and sits easily in the mix.
Supercardioid Precision
The CC8-SC features a tight supercardioid polar pattern that focuses firmly on your source while rejecting sound from the sides and rear. This makes it ideal for stages and busy studios where you need to minimise bleed from other instruments, control room ambience and keep your recordings clean and defined.
Ultra-low Noise, Huge Headroom
With an equivalent noise level of just 13 dB SPL (A), the CC8-SC is exceptionally quiet, preserving the finest details and nuances without hiss or background build-up. At the same time, it can handle sound pressure levels up to a staggering 155 dB SPL, so you can confidently place it on loud sources like drums and percussion without unwanted distortion.
OCC7 Capsule and Transformerless Circuit
At the heart of the CC8-SC is Austrian Audio’s in-house designed OCC7 small-diaphragm capsule. Paired with a transformerless output stage, it delivers a transparent, natural sound with a very linear response. Subtle roll-off in the highs and lows helps tame harsh overtones and stage rumble at the source, giving engineers a more polished signal before any EQ is applied.
Built for Consistency and Control
Every CC8-SC is individually measured and calibrated at the factory to within ±0.5 dB sensitivity at 1 kHz. This tight tolerance means any CC8-SC can be confidently used as part of a stereo pair or multi-mic setup, even if they were purchased at different times. With switchable pads and high-pass filters on board, you can further tailor the mic to the source and environment, keeping your sound controlled and mix-ready.

You can position the mic close to the action without overloading the capsule or preamp, preserving punch and transient detail.
- Onboard High-pass Filters - Selectable 60 Hz and 120 Hz high-pass filters (both 2nd order) let you reduce low-frequency rumble and handling noise directly at the microphone. This keeps your low end tight and controlled, reduces unwanted stage or room noise and saves time on corrective EQ later.
