The ADAM Audio Sub8 PRO is a professional active subwoofer designed to provide powerful, controlled low-frequency reproduction in compact stereo and multichannel monitoring systems. Flexible Monitoring Modes:

The Sub8 PRO offers three operating modes designed to accommodate a range of monitoring applications. Stereo mode provides straightforward integration into conventional 2.1 monitoring systems, while LFE mode is tailored towards immersive audio workflows such as Dolby Atmos. Its dedicated 120 Hz LFE cutoff follows Dolby recommendations for LFE channels in Atmos systems. Wide mode allows the Sub8 PRO to reproduce its full frequency range, providing additional flexibility when bass management is handled elsewhere in the signal chain. Four selectable crossover frequencies of 70, 85, 100 and 115 Hz allow the subwoofer to be matched to different main monitors, while adjustable phase settings help achieve accurate integration within the listening environment.

Advanced Calibration and Control:

Ethernet connectivity gives the Sub8 PRO extensive calibration and management capabilities through ADAM Control. The software allows multiple compatible subwoofers and A Series monitors to be controlled remotely, with level, delay and four bands of parametric EQ available for precise system adjustment. This makes it possible to optimise the monitoring system for different listening positions within the studio. The Sub8 PRO also supports Sonarworks calibration, allowing SoundID Reference filters to be uploaded directly to its integrated DSP platform. Firmware updates can also be managed through ADAM Control, allowing new features and improvements to be introduced to the subwoofer over time.

Powerful and Controlled Bass Reproduction:

The Sub8 PRO combines an 8" high-excursion, low-distortion woofer with a powerful 200 W RMS PWM amplifier. Its fibre-reinforced paper cone and elastic rubber surround allow considerable excursion while maintaining mechanical stability, while the ferrite magnet system and demodulation rings help stabilise voice coil inductance. Advanced ventilation of the moving components helps minimise unwanted noise. The FEA-optimised bass reflex port was developed using computer modelling to improve airflow consistency and reduce turbulence.
