Product Description
The Yamaha FSX800C is a compact electro acoustic that blends a comfortable, small-bodied design with a solid spruce top and reliable onboard electronics. Ideal for developing players, singer songwriters and fingerstyle guitarists, it delivers a clear, balanced tone that works just as well on the sofa as it does on stage.
Derived from the acclaimed FS series, the FSX800C adds a convenient cutaway and Yamaha’s System 66 pickup and preamp, so you can plug straight into an amp or PA with confidence. With its natural finish and classic tonewood pairing, it offers a familiar acoustic sound in a more manageable, performance-ready package.
Comfortable Small Body Design
The FSX800C uses Yamaha’s smaller, thinner concert-style body, making it easier to hold and play for longer sessions. This compact shape is particularly friendly for younger or smaller-framed players, while also suiting more intricate fingerpicking and light strumming where comfort and control are key.
Solid Spruce Top for Responsive Tone
A solid spruce top gives the FSX800C a lively, dynamic acoustic voice with plenty of clarity. Solid wood responds and opens up over time, rewarding regular playing with richer tone and improved resonance. Whether you are playing gentle fingerstyle or more rhythmic parts, the top reacts sensitively to your touch.
Rosewood Back and Sides with Scalloped Bracing
Rosewood back and sides provide depth and warmth, complementing the brightness of the spruce top with rich overtones. Inside, newly developed scalloped bracing helps the top vibrate more freely, enhancing projection and sustain while keeping the overall sound balanced and musical.
Stage Ready Electronics
Equipped with Yamaha’s proprietary under saddle piezo pickup and System 66 analogue preamp, the FSX800C is ready for live performance or recording. The pickup captures a clear, natural acoustic tone, while the onboard controls allow you to shape your sound quickly when plugged in, making it easy to move from home practice to the stage.
Features
- Compact Concert Body with Cutaway - The smaller, thinner body is easier to handle and more comfortable to play, especially for younger players or those who prefer a closer fit. The cutaway gives you better access to the upper frets, opening up more melodic and soloing possibilities.
- Solid Spruce Top - A solid spruce top delivers a bright, articulate sound with strong projection. It responds well to different playing dynamics and will develop more character over time, giving you a guitar that improves the more you play it.
- Rosewood Back and Sides with Scalloped Bracing - Rosewood adds warmth, low end and complex overtones, while the scalloped bracing lets the top resonate more freely. Together they create a full, balanced tone that suits fingerpicking and strumming alike.
- Yamaha System 66 Electronics - The under saddle piezo pickup and System 66 analogue preamp provide a dependable, plug in ready sound. This makes the FSX800C ideal for open mics, gigs and rehearsals where you need consistent, controllable amplified tone.
