Product Description
The Yamaha FS820NT is a compact, comfortable acoustic that delivers a warm, focused tone in a classic natural finish. With its solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and smaller body size, it is an ideal choice for developing players, fingerstyle enthusiasts, and anyone who wants a quality Yamaha acoustic that is easy to live with at home, in the studio, or on the move.
Blending Yamaha acoustic know-how with player-friendly design, the FS820NT offers clear, balanced sound with a touch of extra warmth, all wrapped up in a body that feels instantly familiar even if you are of smaller build. Whether you are working on your first chords, refining your finger-picking, or recording at home, this guitar is built to support your playing every step of the way.
Comfortable Small Body Design
The FS820NT uses Yamaha’s smaller, thinner FS body shape, making it easier to hold and play for longer sessions. This compact design is particularly well suited to female and younger players, as well as anyone who finds a full-size dreadnought a bit of a stretch. The reduced body depth helps the guitar sit closer to your body, improving comfort when practising on the sofa or at a desk.
Solid Spruce Top for Clarity and Projection
A solid spruce top gives the FS820NT a clear, articulate voice that responds well to both finger-picking and strummed chords. Solid tops are prized for opening up and improving over time, rewarding regular playing with richer tone and greater resonance. Spruce also handles a wide dynamic range, so you can play softly or dig in with confidence.
Mahogany Back and Sides for Warm, Strong Sound
Mahogany back and sides add warmth and strength to the FS820NT’s tone, rounding out the brightness of the spruce top with a rich, woody character. This combination produces a balanced sound that sits well in a mix and feels inspiring for solo playing at home. The result is a guitar that sounds full and musical without being boomy, ideal for home practice and recording.
Refined Look with Cream Binding
Cream binding on both the body and fingerboard gives the FS820NT a smart, upgraded appearance. This subtle detailing frames the natural finish beautifully and adds a touch of class that belies the guitar’s accessible price point. It is a guitar that looks as good as it sounds, and one you will be proud to pick up every day.
Features
- Smaller, Thinner FS Body - The compact FS body shape is easier to handle than larger acoustics, making it ideal for players with smaller builds, younger musicians, and anyone who values comfort. The reduced size encourages better posture and makes long practice sessions far less tiring.
- Solid Spruce Top - A solid spruce top delivers clear, balanced tone with plenty of projection and dynamic range. It responds sensitively to your touch, making it perfect for expressive finger-picking as well as strummed accompaniment, and will continue to develop in richness as the guitar is played.
- Mahogany Back and Sides - Mahogany back and sides provide a warm, strong sound that complements the clarity of the spruce top. This classic tonewood pairing gives the FS820NT a rich midrange presence that works well for both chords and single-note lines, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of styles.
- Cream Body and Fingerboard Binding - Cream plastic binding around the body and fingerboard adds a refined visual touch and a more premium feel. This tasteful detailing enhances the natural finish and helps the guitar stand out while still retaining a traditional acoustic look.
