Product Description
The Yamaha FGX800CNT takes the legendary FG formula and adds a convenient cutaway and built-in electronics, giving you a classic, great-value dreadnought that is ready for the stage as well as the sofa. With its solid spruce top, carefully engineered scalloped bracing and comfortable neck profile, it delivers a bold, balanced acoustic tone with the reliable playability Yamaha acoustics are known for.
First introduced in 1966, the FG series proved that a serious acoustic guitar did not have to come with a serious price tag. Decades later, the FGX800CNT carries that same spirit forward, offering upgraded tone and performance thanks to modern acoustic analysis and meticulous construction. Whether you are just starting out or looking for a dependable workhorse to write, record and perform with, this guitar is built to be a long-term musical partner.
At the heart of the FGX800CNT is its solid spruce top, supported by Yamaha's latest scalloped bracing pattern. Developed using advanced R&D tools rather than guesswork, this internal bracing design strengthens the low to mid frequencies while keeping the top responsive and dynamic. The result is a louder, richer sound that still retains clarity and definition, ideal for strumming, flatpicking and fingerstyle alike.
Every aspect of the FGX800CNT is crafted with longevity and consistency in mind. Carefully cured and dried tonewoods, a smooth, hand-sprayed finish and tight quality control all contribute to a guitar that feels reassuringly solid in your hands. The dreadnought cutaway body gives you the familiar projection and punch of a full-size acoustic, with easier access to higher frets when you want to explore solos or more adventurous chord voicings.
Classic FG Heritage
With over half a century of history behind it, the FG line has helped launch countless musical journeys. The FGX800CNT continues that tradition, offering the same focus on musical tone, comfortable playability and dependable build quality that has made FG guitars a favourite with millions of players around the world.
Modern Scalloped Bracing
Yamaha's engineers used cutting-edge acoustic analysis to design a new scalloped bracing pattern for the FGX800CNT. This optimised internal structure enhances volume and strengthens the low to midrange frequencies, while preserving the durability of the top. You get a more powerful, expressive acoustic voice without sacrificing stability.
Dreadnought Cutaway Design
The dreadnought cutaway body shape combines the bold projection and full-bodied tone of a traditional dreadnought with improved upper fret access. This makes it easier to play leads, melodic lines and higher chord shapes, all while retaining the strong, confident sound that works so well for strumming and accompaniment.
Built to Be a Lifelong Partner
From the selection and seasoning of the woods through to the final hand-sprayed finish, every FGX800CNT is built to last. Yamaha's detailed quality control ensures consistent performance from guitar to guitar, so you can rely on it for practice, writing, rehearsals and gigs for years to come.
Features
- Solid Spruce Top - A solid spruce soundboard offers a responsive, dynamic tone that opens up the more you play. It delivers clear highs, strong mids and a tight low end, making the guitar versatile enough for many styles.
- New Scalloped Bracing - The redesigned internal bracing, developed through acoustic analysis, boosts volume and enhances low to midrange power. This gives your chords more body and presence while maintaining clarity and articulation.
- Dreadnought Cutaway Body - The large-bodied dreadnought shape provides projection and punch, while the cutaway allows easier access to higher frets. This combination suits both rhythm work and more melodic playing higher up the neck.
- Yamaha FG Build Quality - Painstakingly cured woods, hand-sprayed finishes and strict quality checks result in a guitar that feels solid, plays comfortably and stays reliable over time, ideal for players who need a dependable everyday instrument.
