Volt 4P Max is all about getting inspiring sounds before you even open a plug-in. Each of the four mic preamps features three distinct Tone Shaping modes: Warmth, Focus and Shine. These harmonic voicings emulate classic tube, solid-state and British Class-A preamps, so your vocals, guitars, synths and drums hit your DAW already sounding like a finished record instead of a rough demo. With up to 60 dB of digitally controlled gain and independent 48 V phantom power per channel, you can confidently use everything from dynamic mics to high-end condensers.

Max compression for mix-ready tracks

Onboard Max processing lets you add punch, control and character as you record, without latency or complex routing. Six push-button compressor presets, inspired by legendary LA-2A and 1176 hardware, are tuned for sources like rap vocals, jangly acoustic guitar and bass. Paired with the three preamp modes, you get over 18 character combinations that make it easy to dial in radio-ready dynamics and tone in seconds, helping performances sit in the mix from the very first take.

Smart workflow for bands, studios and creators

With 12-in / 6-out connectivity, Volt 4P Max is built to handle larger sessions. Four mic/line inputs and two front-panel Hi-Z inputs let you track multiple musicians at once, while ADAT or S/PDIF expansion adds up to eight extra digital inputs when your setup grows. Two stereo monitor outputs with speaker switching make it simple to compare mixes on main and alternate monitors, and dual headphone outputs support collaborative sessions. The full colour Smart Display gives clear visual feedback on levels, gain reduction and settings, while Auto-Gain and Clip Protection keep your signals clean and distortion-free.

Built-in loopback lets you blend live mics and instruments with computer audio for podcasts, livestreams and performance videos, and the integrated talkback microphone makes communicating with performers straightforward. USB bus power and class-compliant operation mean you can plug straight into Mac, Windows, iPad or iPhone and start recording quickly, while the onboard USB hub helps you connect and power MIDI controllers and other peripherals without extra clutter.

Every Volt 4P Max comes with the UAD Volt Studio Bundle, a curated collection of over 15 UAD plug-ins and instruments plus the LUNA Digital Audio Workstation. From classic UA 610 tube preamps, Teletronix LA-2A and 1176 compressors, through tape, reverbs and delays, to premium synths and guitar amps, you get the same tools used on countless hit records. Additional third-party software from Celemony, Plugin Alliance, UJAM, Splice, UVI and Image-Line rounds out a comprehensive production toolkit so you can write, record and mix to a professional standard straight out of the box.
