Designed by the same team behind UA’s flagship Apollo range, Volt 4 Gen 2 gives you the character and clarity of a pro studio in a compact, bus-powered box. Two Tone Shaping mic preamps let you switch between Warmth, Focus and Shine modes for instant tube, solid-state and British Class-A style flavours at the source, while Hi-Z inputs handle guitars and basses with ease. Add MIDI I/O, ADAT expansion and an onboard USB hub, and you have a flexible centrepiece that can grow with your setup.

Volt 4’s 32-bit / 192 kHz converters capture every nuance of your performance, backed up by loud, detailed monitor and headphone outputs so you can trust what you are hearing from tracking through to final mix. The bright Smart Display keeps levels, routing and settings clear at a glance, while Auto-Gain and Clip Protection safeguard your takes from unwanted distortion, letting you focus on the music instead of the meters.

Volt 4 Gen 2’s Tone Shaping Preamps provide up to 60 dB of gain and three distinct character modes: Warmth, Focus and Shine. These modes emulate classic tube, solid-state and British Class-A style mic pres, letting you dial in rich, record-ready vocals, guitars and instruments before they even hit your DAW, saving time on plug-in chains later.

Smart Display, Auto-Gain and Clip Protection

The full-colour Smart Display puts your inputs, levels and key settings right in front of you, so you can see exactly what is happening at a glance. Auto-Gain sets your recording level in seconds, while Clip Protection catches unexpected peaks, helping you avoid ruined takes and keeping sessions flowing smoothly.

Expandable I/O for growing studios

With two mic / line inputs, two additional line inputs, two front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs, stereo monitor outs, extra line outputs and MIDI In/Out, Volt 4 Gen 2 is ready for multi-source recording. An ADAT or S/PDIF optical input lets you add up to eight more channels of digital audio, so you can easily expand for drum kits, live bands or outboard-heavy setups as your needs grow.

Premium UAD software and LUNA DAW included

Every Volt 4 Gen 2 includes the UAD Volt Studio Bundle with over 15 UAD plug-ins and instruments, plus the LUNA Digital Audio Workstation. From Teletronix LA-2A and 1176 compressors to tape, reverb, synths and guitar amps, you get a powerful toolkit for shaping, mixing and finishing your tracks, along with additional software from leading third-party developers.
